Cult Nails Reviews and Swatches

Let's talk customer service for a minute, shall we? To me, that means good contact, fast delivery and good product.

Point one, good contact. I ordered online and before I could log off that page, I had an automated email confirming my order. Awesome. But if I'd had a question, how many ways could I have contacted them on the WEEKEND and a holiday 3-day weekend to boot?  Well, email, Facebook and twitter. I'm sure I'd have gotten an answer and I really believe if I had decided to call, they would have answered the phone, too.

Point two, fast delivery. Well since I ordered on the Friday before Labor Day,  I wasn't really expecting the polishes before maybe Thursday or Friday of the next week, if that. I received them on TUESDAY. Yes, the Tuesday after Labor Day.  So that's basically zero working days. Wow.

Point three, good product. Since I already had Cruisin' Nude, Devious Nature and My Kind of Kool Aid, I knew the polishes were good. And these last two didn't disappoint. Perfection.

It's a wonderful feeling to get polishes I really love, in colors I love, ON SALE no less, while the rest of the world seemed to be in a frenzy over 3 "new" blues from Chanel for FNO. Not that I have anything against Chanel - I like their polishes. I own some. And they DO come out with unique, one-of-a-kind colors sometimes. They aren't 4-free like Cult Nails though and just because they're LE doesn't mean I will look good in those colors, though. Especially when there are so many blues that are "close enough" out there already. (But had they been green? No such thing as "close enough" and I'd have had to have all three.)

I did some quick swatching of the Cult Nails colors I own so far - quick...as in no clean up and I have a cut on my index finger that I tried to hide, but I just had to show the lovely colors! They are all with no base coat, two coats of color, no top coat, in indirect sunlight.

My new ones:  In a Trance and Iconic

In a Trance is a great yellow-based olive green creme packed with a wonderful gold shimmer and it went on like a dream.

Iconic is a deep berry color with lots of gold shimmer and little flakies! Yes, it has flakies. But you wouldn't know it by the formula - it's not thick or goopy like some flaky polishes are, but the flakies still stay suspended well. Another easy application and FAB results.

And the others...

My Kind of Kool Aid is a wonderful dusty greyed out lavender with silver shimmer that had great application and was opaque in two light coats.

Cult Nails Devious Nature
Cult Nails Devious Nature
Devious Nature is a gorgeous heavily pigmented bright pink.  Yes, PINK.  Those of you who know me, know I'm not really into pinks because they hate me. I'm a redhead with the skin color of bleached flour, so they generally wash me out.  Not this one! It's such a bright, happy, heavily pigmented creme that it doesn't wash me out at all. Definitely my go-to pink from now on. The application, again, was a dream. Great formula!

And on to the last one... Cruisin' Nude. I had a little more difficulty with this one because it's formula is a little thicker, but I am thinking I probably used coats that were too thick.  I do have a tendency to do that sometimes. It's definitely not goopy, just thicker than the others. So next time, I will take my time and make sure to use two thin coats.  This one is a great nude color with a hidden hint of pink micro shimmer. On a normal complexion, this would be perfect for mannequin hands! On me, it reads a little darker...which I love.

So to sum it up, if this is any indication of how Maria intends to run her business in the future, I predict she stays around for a LONG time!

*No, I'm not affiliated with Cult Nails, I just get excited for small companies when they can kick the "Big Boys'" butts in the CS area.

    Thanks for stopping by!
