After testing several linear holos, I've decided that Nfu-Oh does them best for my money! The application is good and the linear holo is strong and awesome.
Here's a quick test I did this evening with a few I have on hand. Nfu-Oh 64, Glitter Gal Copper 3D, Sally Hansen Magical Nail Makeup Mystical Mandarin and OPI DS Original.
The Glitter Gal either let me down, or I let it down. I did a full mani with it and did not like the brush. I don't like to do clean-up at all. I may have mentioned a time or five that I am lazy? With the GG brush, cleanup is inevitable. I don't know if it's that the brush isn't beveled or tapered or what it is. And after all that trouble, the holo wasn't as linear as I am used to. So I took it off, did a quick comparison shown above and ended with Nfu-Oh 66. This is using the Nfu-Oh Aqua Base and a Seche Vite topcoat. And I'm happy now.

Gorgeous! Is it really green? I've fallen for a few "green" holos but didn't get them because I wanted silver. But from the pictures I've seen of several green holos, they don't really look that green.
ReplyDeleteIt's light, but it's still green - I think the photos are pretty color-accurate. Some of the holos are very washed out, which is why I like the Spectraflair topcoat - it doesn't seem to wash out the colors as much. But if you're wanting a silver holo, try Nfu-Oh #61. I posted about it here: http://pointlesscafe.blogspot.com/2011/08/holo-mania-comes-to-end.html
