This one was inspired by District in the nation of Panem - the masonry district. If this is you right now:
...then you obviously haven't read The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. You really REALLY need to read them. They're VERY fast reads and the movie will be out soon, so as Nike would say, Just Do It!
This one was a surprise because it's matte! Well I wasn't really surprised because I'd already been to some of my favorite bloggers looking for swatches, so I knew it, but I don't think it was mentioned in any of the pre-release PR. I am surprised that I love it though! Just describing a charcoal grey dull matte finish polish, it doesn't sound very nice, but photos prove otherwise!
Here I am showing it with ONE COAT and no top coat:

And you KNOW I had to see what it looked like with a top coat...so I put a Poshe top coat on two nails to show the contrast.

It's really lovely either way, but that top coat really brings out the hidden inner beauty, IMO. This is probably as close to wearing "black" that I will ever get.
What do you think? Do you like mattes?
If you enjoyed this post, please take a second to "like" it! Thanks!
.
That looks really good on you! Looks like application was really good for a matte!
ReplyDeleteApplication was a cream - nothing like a "typical" matte! It does dry REALLY fast like a matte though, but since it only takes one coat, no chance of issues with going over and over it.
DeleteWhat about adding Lux and Lush to it??? If you don't I will maybe this weekend..
ReplyDeleteI didn't get Lux & Lush! But I can't wait to see it on you!
DeleteIt looks really good on you, both matte and with top coat. :)
ReplyDeleteI have this on right now and I absolutely love it! And I was wondering what it would look like with topcoat and now I know. :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE IT! Can't wait to get mine :). LOL @ that bunny
ReplyDeleteGreat job, I usually don't care for mattes but this is nice! Looks great with a glossy topcoat, too:)
ReplyDeleteI just made a major mess! LOL Commented your post on another blog! Dahhh!
ReplyDeleteSo I was saying that I love black polishes almost as I love red ones and this one is going straight to my wishlist! It is really beyond gorgeous!
I cant even decide if I love it better with or without the TC!
Kiss*

Sorry I was too busy giggling at the bunny with the pancake hat.
ReplyDeleteEee looks veli fwench.
Thanks for showing with topcoat! I like it better with the topcoat but I'm a big fan of sparkle! :)
ReplyDeleteI like it a lot! Reminds me of a blackboard in a way. I only have one matte polish, and I always put a shiny top coat over it, so I guess I'm not into mattes on myself. But this looks great on your nails!
ReplyDeleteActually, this polish represents District 2 (Masonry) not 12.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'll fix that!
