China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy - Swatches and Review

Put your sunglasses on for this one! This evening I'm showing you a NEON!

China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy

China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy was part of China Glaze's Summer 2010 Poolside Collection. It's described as a coral pink neon creme, which is pretty spot-on but it definitely reads orange in low lighting.

Had a difficult time capturing it, but leaving "orange hands" in some photos allowed for the color-accuracy of the polish.

I used two coats with NO top coat.  It's a neon so it dries in a typical neon semi-matte. I loved it this way so I left it, but a shiny top coat can be added if you prefer. The application, however, wasn't typical neon. It applied VERY smoothly. No issues to report at all.

This next photo is the most color accurate as far as the polish description...

This polish is widely available on-line at various e-tailers and ranges from $2.99 to $5.00, generally.

What do you think? Do you love rocking neons for summer?

  7. Just bought this and it is indeed super bright! Love it, although I do find it chips quicker than other polished from China Glaze.

  9. I spent HOURS today trying to apply this color and could not get it to work.

After 4 coats it was still a streaky see through mess, but was so thick that it would not dry.

I don't know HOW you managed to get it to look nice with just 2 coats but it looks like I'll end up chucking this one in the garbage =(

    1. Oh no! Maybe you got a bad bottle? Neons don't like to be overly manipulated...First coat thin (looks awful) second coat smoothed it all out and made it totally opaque. I've chunked polishes in the garbage for just that problem but I didn't have issues with this one at all.

    2. Me too! Same exact issue: streaky, and left weird bald patches. Maybe I'm "over-manipulating." Weird thing, though, the first time I used this I had no problems. I'm on the second go, a couple of months later. Possible the consistency changed? It doesn't seem to have thickened up though. Odd!
