AquaDaisy Shazaam - Swatches and Review

I've already published a blog post today, but I couldn't WAIT to share this one with you. I didn't make it and I'm not the first to wear it or show it off on a blog even, but I still almost feel like I'm having a EUREKA! moment here...like I've "discovered" something! Dare I say THE triple P?? (perfect purple polish!)

AquaDaisy Shazaam

AquaDaisy on Etsy has put out one of THE best polishes I've ever used. (And if you've seen my stash, you know that's saying something.)  I've never bought from AquaDaisy before this polish and unfortunately it's the only one I grabbed. None were provided to me for PR purposes or review. And I do not know the people behind AquaDaisy, so there's no chance I'm just hyping one of the polishes of a friend. Those who know me well know I wouldn't do that anyway...but some of you probably don't know me that well. Yet.

Shazaam is a creamy, smooth, opaque-in-one-coat, violet-based purple with a very tightly scattered holo. The application was a dream. (Think a-England Tristam/Dragon/St. George - formula and holo properties.)

I applied ONE COAT of this polish yesterday. I washed the car (including cleaning the rims!) did dishes and regular everyday stuff around the house in addition to typing. A lot. I don't really ever get chips in my polish. I never have. But I do have a LOT of tip wear. Generally within an hour it's noticeable if I'm on the computer a lot. I did not wrap my tips.

The first two photos were pre-top coat...

It was gorgeous already, even with the artificial lighting and no top coat. But then I applied a coat of Poshe and it really came to life!

More with artificial lighting...see that gorgeous tightly-scattered holo?

Today, after all of the aforementioned activities, there's still almost NO TIP WEAR. Did I mention I used ONE coat and didn't wrap the tips?  Shown below in natural (direct and indirect) lighting...

I don't have any other purples exactly like it, but for reference, it falls squarely between Color Club Wild at Heart (darker) and China Glaze Virtual Violet from the Tronica Collection (lighter.) But the application and formula were quite a bit better than either of those.

I ordered this LATE at night on April 28th, a Saturday, so technically Monday morning for business purposes, and I received it at my door on Thursday, May 3rd...the 4th day. I had no issues.  I did think about this one for a bit before I ordered, only because I've come to expect indie polishes (that aren't Lynnderella or NerdLacquer) to be around $8 or $9.00.  Most of AquaDaisy polishes are $8.00, with the exception of Shazaam and Fuel Spill (black version of Shazaam) which are $12.00. But I am SO HAPPY I ordered this one. And I will be ordering Fuel Spill next.

I seriously can't rave enough about this polish. Glitters are great and they probably aren't going anywhere for a long time, but it's polishes like THIS one that will be around forever. Hype or no hype. Good economy or bad.  AquaDaisy, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

If you enjoyed this post, please take a second to "like" it! Thanks!

  5. You just fueled my addiction to nail polish with these swatches (good job!) I had Aquadaisy saved as a favorite, but now I just ordered Shaazam and Fuel Spill.

    1. Actually, now because of this post I've googled the Color Club one and I think that's more the purple I want so I think I'll go with that one. It's 1/3 the price, also.
