Because THIS was on my kitchen floor when I got back from running errands in 106 degree heat.
Unwelcome Scorpion |
He was smaller than the others I've found in my house before, but he was an aggressive lil bugger. He curled up his tail and came at me! So after my freak out, I grabbed the can of insecticide and pretty much drowned him. #winning!
ANYWAY, in honor of the HEAT (and because Bill liked red,) I pulled out an OLD Chanel.
Chanel Canicule. I'm not sure how old this one is but it's gorgeous. It's a candy apple red with red shimmer and silver micro glitter and when I googled "canicule" I knew it must be my mani for today. Canicule means heatwave or scorcher in French. AppropriƩ, n'est-ce pas?

What do you think? Red is supposed to be empowering! Guess that was what gave me the courage to kill the scorpion myself. LOL!
If you enjoyed this post, please take a second to "like" it! Thanks!

YUCKY SCORPION! EW!!!! But pretty red Chanel!
ReplyDelete♥ ♥ ♥ What a perfect polish for the day.
ReplyDeleteLove that Chanel and the post!
ReplyDelete106? Thats about how hot it was here today... and 110 by the end of the week! :( That polish is perfect for the heat... I was thinking something like China Glaze Riveting!! Ha
ReplyDeleteI am lucky that there are no scorpions running around in my country :)
ReplyDeleteLove the polish - very pretty!
Thank you for sharing this!! I am so sorry that he isn't here with you, but I'm sure he is laughing with you from above!! Beautiful color, so fitting!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty color! My mom has a scorpion problem and hate this time of year because they are always in the house. My kids aren't allowed to take their shoes off at her house. Thanks for sharing your story with us. Hope tomorrow is better.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the post. I am sure he is watching you from a better place, you have an angel.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have scorpions in California, phew!
EWWWWW! Omg, I would die if I saw that in my kitchen! How do they even get in??
ReplyDeleteI had to think twice as to what Canicule meant, and lol, you're right it means heat wave in French. Yay! How appropriate - and gorgeous!!
The polish is so pretty and yes, I would have flipped out of there was a scorpion in my kitchen. It would have stayed there forever or until Gary killed it because I was NEVER go near the damn thing. Gary is designated spider killer and moth catcher.
ReplyDeleteIiiiiiiiiiiiiih a scorpion...In Germany we don´t have such scary insects.
ReplyDeleteBut beautiful nailpolish <3
Scorpions and 106 degrees - are you in AZ? I am too and that sounds like AZ to me! I *hate* scorpions. Thankfully I don't see them all that often but they are creepy little nasties.
ReplyDeletethe smaller the scorpion the more deadly they are... please be very cautious & get someone to spray. I live in AZ & have them spray every month until winter comes.
ReplyDeleteI would have screamed and ran too, Ahhhhhh, scary!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely gorgeous mani to commemorate your love. I'm going on 19 yrs. this year too(together 23), and I am so sorry he is not here with you. I'm sure he is looking down watching, laughing and protecting.
Really pretty red :) and yuck to the scorpian, I hate creepy crawlys!
ReplyDeleteOne reason i love the fact i live in Moscow: we don't have those creepers >< And i'm very sorry your husband isn't with you, but you know, he's in a better place :)
ReplyDeleteaw so glad that you got a back up of this xx I'm glad you can still hear your husband though. It never lessens, does it xxxx
ReplyDeleteAwww. <3
ReplyDeletePretty polish, awful heat and yucky scorpion. I have encountered a couple in California long ago and they are nasty. My heart goes out to you, I know I can hear my mom laugh and yell at me when the moment calls for it (4 years since her passing) so I can definitely see how he's still laughing at you.
ReplyDeletenot cool man.
ReplyDeletei freak over a tiny spider. i'd have had a serious panic attack if i saw THAT!
OMG! And I thought I had it bad with half dollar sized Cujo spiders! That would definitely freak me out big time~ luckily in Virginia, we don't have those. I'm very proud of you for killing it, I'm not sure I would have been brave enough. Told my parents last weekend that that is really the only reason to have a man around-to kill bugs! That Chanel is gorgeous! Suposed to be 102 in the shade around here-so I feel yah
ReplyDeleteLooks gorgeous. I would freak out if I even had the posibility of finding a scorpion in my house!
ReplyDeleteScorpions were vaguely in the back of my mind when I declined a job offer in Phoenix six years ago, though I much better reasons than that not to take the position! That said, I am the least afraid of crawlies of anyone in my house. Spiders get to live and are cherished as they eat silverfish, which gnaw on clothing and books! I don't kill anything unless it harms me or my possessions.
