Have you ever been "snake bitten" when it comes to getting a certain polish? Well I was with Color Club Pucci-Licious. It's not particularly hard to find, so I am not sure why I kept coming up empty. I'd ordered it from a few e-tailers, paid, gotten the rest of my orders, only to get an Out Of Stock notifications on the packing slips and a refund for that polish. And when I'd run into Color Club polishes here in Po-Dunk, Pucci-Licious was never one of them.
Well I was lamenting this last week about it when a very sweet "polish fairy" overheard. Yesterday I got an awesome package containing not one but TWO versions of Pucci-Licious! I didn't even know there WERE two versions! My friend Gina at
My Dirty Little Obsessions hooked me UP! THANK YOU, GINA!
Photos shown are with two coats of color and no top coat. I've got sheet wrinkles and cuticle issues and I'm showing it to you anyway because I LOVE the color! This version is a cool-toned periwinkle purple creme and the formula was excellent. It's hard for me to capture with 100% color-accuracy, so I'm showing you several different lighting situations.

After I discovered the sheet wrinkles, etc. I decided to wear it day two with Lynnderella Bride of Franken layered on top. Again, various lighting situations...

And of course I couldn't leave you without showing you the two different versions! Totally different colors.
I understand slight color variations from batch to batch, really I do. But seriously, if a company is going to make a TOTALLY DIFFERENT COLOR, they really should give it a new name. It's happened to me twice this week, once with Orly and now Color Club. And don't even get me started on Nails Inc. reusing names for different colors. Anyway, here are some photos so you can see what I mean. One is a cool-toned purple with lots of blue and the other is a more warm-toned purple.

I would tell you where this can be purchased, but as you saw by the beginning of this post, I really have no idea! LOL!
What do you think of this color. Which version is your favorite? How do YOU feel about companies using the same name for two different colors?
If you enjoyed this post, please take a second to "like" it! Thanks!
.
Warning: this is gonna be a long comment. I LOVE both versions! Not that that surprises you. I also love it with BoF on top. I love the border idea! I had considered that before but wasn't sure about it. Plus I'm lazy and that's an extra step. Haha And my #1 like from this post is the purple mani in front of the green wall. EPIC PHOTO.
ReplyDeleteI have 1 of the 2 versions of these. I think its the brighter one. I brought it not to long ago from a etailer.
ReplyDeletePucci-Licious looks very pretty! But it is strange that these two polishes that should look the same look so different :S
ReplyDeletethat's really weird the two would be such different colors. I wonder if one is an old formula which they decided to change for whatever reason. interesting! pretty colors :)
