butter LONDON Cake-Hole and Trustafarian - Swatches and Review

This evening I have two more of the new butter LONDON polishes for you!

First up, Cake-Hole, a Macy's Exclusive. Here in the U.S., we say Pie-Hole (as in shut your pie-hole!) but it's the same idea. Cute!  This one is a near-neon, if not full-on neon hot pink that reads peach in some lights and like a candy pink in others. It's opaque in two-three coats and dries to a semi-matte finish like most neons. It applied more like a crelly than a neon, but definitely dries to that neon/rubber-ish finish.  I didn't have any problems with application but I used three coats for full opacity. My VNL (visible nail line) is a bit harder to cover than most though. My nails are thick and stained.

First with no top coat...

And Trustafarian. I LOVE THE NAME! A trustafarian is a trust baby or spoiled rich kid who likes to pretend to be a hippy but drives his Bentley back to his mansion every night. Gotta love it! This one really surprised me! I love green and I LOVE linear holos so it's right up my alley for sure.

Trustafarian is a light green linear holo that goes on like a dream. It's opaque in 2 coats. No issues with application. I did not use an aqua base, or any base for that matter. I find that linear holos go on better with no base coat. I didn't use a top coat for these photos, but I applied Poshe later and it did not diminish the effect of the holo. Oddly, I didn't get any full sun to capture how holo it is, but I did capture some of it. It's not Jade/ChG OMG linear but it's really good. Way to go, BL!

What do you think of these two? I liked both, but Trustafarian is my favorite (as if you couldn't tell.) My only issue with Cake-Hole is that it was sheerer than I expected and I just didn't love the color on me as much. The polish, however, was fine.

butter LONDON polishes are available at butterlondon.com and selected retail stores like ULTA (and most recently, Dillard's Department Stores) and they retail for $14.00 for .4 ounces. To stay up-to-date on special deals and offers, you can "like" them on Facebook here. Trustafarian and *Cake-Hole are just two of the over 60 colors they offer, in addition to various indulgences for your hands and feet...and even your lips. The nail lacquers are 3-free and butter LONDON is a Cruelty-Free company. That's a major plus for me.

*Cake Hole is a Macy's Exclusive and can be ordered online at macys.com or picked up in store.

If you enjoyed this post, please take a second to "like" it! Thanks!

  9. I am on a no buy of this brand anymore because I have soooo many huge disappointments with formulas on shades I just had to have. I have some that are so thick they barely go on - while others are so thin they leave bald spots.
