30 Day Challenge Day Six - VIOLET with Barry M Bright Purple

Barry M Bright Purple

For VIOLET day I chose Barry M Bright Purple. Violet is one of my all-time FAVORITE colors and I prefer something between violet and red violet like this one. When I first saw "violet" I thought purple, which it is, but I wanted to make sure my perception of what violet is matched what violet actually is. So I pulled up a color chart.

My favorite shade is the violet of a wine cup flower...

Since I'd already used Illamasqua Stance (which is a perfect match for the wine cup) that left Barry M Bright Purple! Bright Purple is just one of these gorgeous violet shades that I love. Application was great - smooth formula. Two easy coats for full opacity. Shown in all photos with two coats of color and no top coat. It dries very shiny.

  1. Lovely! I just pulled out my only 2 purple polishes, but you put a lot more thought into it!

  2. I'm always confused about the different shades and names of purple! I just picked two that were neither too blue nor too red. This is a pretty shade you're wearing!

  4. I adore the Barry M polishes I have - they are hard to come by in the USA and wish that was not the case - I think Barry M would sell volumes if they could find a way to distribute to US drug stores. Thanks for the look at this flower - had never heard of it before now and will be off to look it up on line to read more about it - off the top of my head looking like it might be in the poppy family. I love purple polishes too - all but when they get into the chalky white range of pastel lavenders - then I cannot wear 'em. I think outside of the norm range of nail polishes...it probably was purple I first branched out to using. I know I did not warm up to greens when they first were appearing around the time of say OPI's Canada collection release with Quebec something something. I can recall seeing that and thinking I would never be wearing green polish! I would be hard pressed to pick a fav purple polish of mine.
