BB Couture Classic Hollywood Divas Collection Part 2 of 2

Happy Saturday! Today I have the 2nd half of BB Couture's Classic Hollywood Divas Collection. I split them into 2 posts because 8 was just a little much for one post.

The Classic Hollywood Divas Collection consists of:
Audrey, Bette, Claudette, Elizabeth, Lucille, Marilyn, Raquel and Vivian

Yesterday I showed you Part 1:  Lucille, Marilyn, Raquel and Vivian and today I have Audrey, Bette, Claudette and Elizabeth.

All of these have small holographic glitter pieces and small holographic bar glitter pieces in different bases. I'm showing all four of these with one coat of Nails Inc. Caviar Top Coat.

First up let's have a look at Elizabeth. Obviously this one was named for Elizabeth Taylor, known for her violet eyes, among many other um, attributes? She also played Cleopatra (as did Vivien Leigh from yesterday.) She started as a child actress and was one of the few to transition to adolescent actress and into adult roles successfully. In addition, she won two Best Actress Oscars, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian award for her work in HIV/AIDS, The Lifetime Achievement Award, among many others.

Elizabeth is a violet purple jelly and applied nicely - no issues at all. It's my favorite of these four I'm showing you today.

Next up is Claudette. Named for Claudette Colbert (pronounced col-BEAR) who truly was a classic. She was a French-born American actress who started her career on Broadway and made her way to become one of the all-time best actresses ever. From the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Kennedy Center Honors to Golden Globes to an Oscar for It Happened One Night. Tops in screwball comedy - my favorite! And guess what? She ALSO played Cleopatra!

Claudette is a gorgeous bright blue crelly with a shimmer. It's *almost* a jelly but not quite. It applied nicely and I had no issues with application. Most of the glitter pieces stay more covered in this one than in the straight jellies, which I quite like.

Next is Bette. Bette Davis, of course. I don't think she ever played Cleopatra but who alive today couldn't name at least 10 of her most popular movies? She never was my favorite, but no one can deny her popularity or the contributions she made to "Classic Hollywood." She was nominated for an Oscar 10 times and won for Best Actress twice - just a few of her many awards and achievements.

Bette is a medium-toned green crelly. Again, it's not quite a jelly. Application was easy and I had no issues. I used two coats of this one for the photos.

And finally...Audrey. I LOVE Audrey Hepburn. She was not only a great actress, but also a style icon and great humanitarian. She starred in three of my top 10 favorite movies of all time, Sabrina, Charade and Roman Holiday. Probably best known though for her portrayal in Breakfast at Tiffanys, which wasn't one of my favorites. She was born in Brussels, lived in German-occupied Anhem during WWII and studied ballet in Amsterdam before becoming a chorus girl on Broadway and the rest, as they say, is history. She won countless awards for her acting and her humanitarianism.

Audrey, unfortunately, is my least favorite of the collection. Possibly because it's not a color that's flattering in ANY way to my pale skin. I also had a few issues with application. It's a medium yellow creme/crelly with the same glitter pieces as the others and was a tad thicker than the rest. It goes on like a creme and has a bit of the look of a jelly but not enough to call it a true jelly. It wasn't self-leveling at all and doesn't really like to be over-manipulated. I ended up using 3 coats for the photos and as you can see, I didn't get a smooth finish like I did with the other 7 in the collection.

Well there you have it!!! WHEW! Overall, I quite liked the collection and really enjoyed swatching them. The only one I really didn't like was Audrey. I expected not to like any of them because of the glitter pieces, especially the bar glitter, but I ended up being totally surprised. The fact that the bar glitters were short and smaller made all the difference for me.

So what did you think? Which is your favorite of these 4? Of the entire collection? Mine are Raquel, Elizabeth and Vivian with Marilyn not far behind.

BB Couture polishes can be purchased at Overall Beauty and retail for between $9 and $11 for full 15ml bottles. Also follow Overall Beauty on Facebook to stay up-to-date on availability, new collections, etc.
