Nail Polish Storage and Collection 2.0

I figured it was time to update my storage and collection page, but I've been waiting until I got everything put away. I realized that's never going to happen. So this is without about 50 - 75 polishes that are always somewhere else - collections I'm swatching, new stuff that hasn't been put away, etc. But this will have to do for now.

Since I still haven't gotten around to building the other shelves or clearing up wall space to hang them, I went looking for something else and I found these great little wire racks for $6.95 each at Walmart in the bath section! I cut out little pieces of lightweight cardboard (actually I cut up those priority mail envelopes from the USPS that were sent to me by mistake when I ordered the flat rate bubble mailers) to line the bottoms and the worked out great!

So here are just some photos of my storage and collection...

I would take a pic of my desk  and work space, but it's such a mess I don't dare.

How do you store your polishes? Please post pics of your storage solutions on my Facebook page!!!

  3. Another reason why we need a bigger place!! I would love to have my polishes like that, but with 2 kids who have to get into everything, it's not going to happen :D

Love how your polishes are stored <3

  6. Oh. My. God. Drool. I have a little over 200 polishes, and have outgrown the storage drawers I was using. This would be so awesome...but alas I have very little wall space, and a husband who may not be too enthused about me prominently displaying my dirty little secret - haha. This looks great. I am sooooo jealous!

  19. As silly as it sounds, looking at your collection makes me drool. And then wish I had wall space for racks to look at all my pretties.

  20. *DROOL* I love Polish P*rn!!! I was planning on having my husband build me a custom cabinet for my polishes (they are in a helmer and tote right now) but seeing those walls racks really turn me on ;)

Is it sad that I can look at your pictures and pretty much name every brand just by the shape of the bottle/cap? LOL

My daughter leaves for college in a year....I was planning on using her room as a guest/craft room but now...I *might* just add my beauty collection in there as well! LOL MY ROOM! (don't worry, she will still be able to sleep in the room, but she won't be allowed to complain about my choice of decor LOL)

  21. I love it when my favorite bloggers post pix like these. I show them to my DH so my 300 polishes don't look so bad! lol

I have a smaller than a Helmer, 4 drawer night stand sort of thing similar in style to your woven grass baskets (the grass is woven over metal rod framing), I got at World Market. I deliberately bought something smaller to limit the number of polishes I could have (ahahaha, dumb girl), but it's now full and then some. Time to weed or buy another. The nice DH offered to build me some like yours, but I have nowhere to hang them and we live in earthquake land. I'm afraid even a little quake would have most of them on the floor.

  22. Wow! My bf thinks I have a problem with my 200 bottles of polishes! His jaw would drop if he saw this lol. My collection seems like a tiny handful compared to this lol

  23. Love your storage shelves! I did want to ask about how many bottles those wire racks hold? Right now I have my untrieds in a big underbed box, which while keeping them all where I can find the ones I have yet to wear, makes it difficult to see everything haha.

    1. They hold about 60 regular polishes like China Glaze - 4 rows of 5 on each of the three little shelves.
