The Nail Junkie Halloween Line - Swatches and Review

Back again! Tonight I have a Halloween Collection for you from The Nail Junkie! (And Psssstttt - there's a giveaway link at the bottom!)

The Nail Junkie Halloween Line: Candy Corn, Black Cat,
Frankenstein and Pumpkin

As with other collections, $1 of the proceeds from the sale of each bottle goes to charity. To see which charity she chose for the Halloween Line polishes, visit her blog here. Also, with each purchase you will receive a free gift of a hand-blended Cutie Balm and felts for polish removal. Check them out here.

So lets get started with Candy Corn! Candy Corn is described by the creator as  "A 'crelly' (almost creme but jelly enough for layering) white base with matte yellow and matte orange hex glitters. Candy corn will make your nails look sweet enough to eat."  I used three coats of this one by itself and finished with one coat of Gelous. The first coat looks as if it wasn't going to be too sheer and wasn't going to apply easily but the second coat fixed it right up and I added a third layer just to get a few more glitters. The 3rd coat certainly wasn't necessary though.

Black Cat is described by the creator as "a sheer black jelly loaded with three different sizes of black glitter and just a hint of holographic shimmer. All the black cat without the bad luck." The only thing I disagree with her on a little bit is that it's only semi-sheer to me. I used three coats alone on one finger and layered it over a base color on the rest and you can't tell which is which. I am very happy with that as sheers aren't my favorite. It is, however, sheer enough to layer one coat over a contrasting color for another great look. Check out The Nail Junkie's quick swatches of it over grey and white here. I used three coats and one coat of Poshe for the photos.

Frankenstein is described by the creator as "a green shimmer polish with black bar and black hex glitters. This polish is meant to be reminiscent of the screws, stitches and bolts it took to put together the poor, misunderstood green monster named Frankenstein." Yep, spot on! The shimmer in this one is what really makes it, in my opinion. I didn't have any application problems with this one and used only two coats and one coat of Poshe for the photos.

And I've saved my favorite of the collection for last. Pumpkin! Pumpkin is described by the creator as "an orange shimmer creme base custom blended with super fine green glitter and green holographic glitters. Nothing represents Halloween more perfectly than a bright orange pumpkin." The application was dreamy on this one. Two coats with no "underwear" and one coat of Poshe made this one easily my favorite.
