Today I picked up some off-brand (I assume?) Argan Oil hair cream from Ross. There were NO Color Club polishes. Po-Dunk.
So I grabbed this. I mean I've tried nearly everything else so why not? It was $7.99.
It says to put it on after you wash your hair or in between on wet or dry hair. Easy enough.
I went ahead and washed my hair using the Graham Webb shampoo and conditioner I've been using since I read that's what Bernadette Peters uses (the only person I could find with hair even close to what mine is like.)
Then I put about a quarter-sized amount in with my hair upside down and another of the same size with my hair/head upright. And let it dry.
This is what I got...
Now I realize for people with normal hair, you know, actual hair that FEELS like hair? Hair that you can run your fingers through? Or a brush through? will think this is a mess.
But if you knew what my hair actually looks like, you'd think it was a miracle. Of course I haven't been outside yet in the wind or humidity. Who knows what that will do. You can be sure I will have my ponytail holder on my wrist, just in case. It's been so long since I've worn it down I won't know how to act.
Like I said, I picked this up as Ross and it was the last one, so who knows where or if it's actually available elsewhere. If it really works, you can bet I will be hunting it down!
If you enjoyed this post, please take a second to "like" it! Thanks!

Looks like it might really work, your curls look beautiful and defined! It looks like it might be soft rather than "crunchy" like so many products tend to do. (I don't have curly hair, mine's stick straight and I've always wished it was curly, but I had a perm way back in high school.)
ReplyDeleteI actually thought it was going to be crunchy but it's not! I have been using Kinky Curly Curling Custard which does make it crunchy at first, but you just scrunch it with your hands and the crunchy is gone.
Deleteargh, I'd love to have curly hair! I think your hair is gorgeous. I know, the grass is always greener & all that, but still...
ReplyDeleteI also have curly hair! Never tried argan oil, but have always been curious. thanks for the post!
ReplyDeleteYou SO DON'T! LOL! At least if it's straight, you CAN get a perm. With curly hair this bad, straighteners don't even work. So I've had to try to embrace it. Which is tough.
DeleteMight have to look for this at my Ross...can't ever find anything that makes my curls nicer...i unfortunately have the sad frizzy mix between waves and curls which I hate. It would be so much easier to have one or the other...but no...not blessed with that.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks absolutely gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried that stuff but I do use shampoo and conditioner with argan oil and R&B from Lush which is described as a hair moisturiser. People are always surprised when they touch my hair and feel how soft it is, they think that with the curls it's going to be quite coarse xo
ReplyDeleteMine is very coarse. :( But it is softer!
DeleteWOOHOO!!! I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteArgan is really the best sort of oil for curlies. No doubt about it!
Do update how it goes after the meeting with the outside ;-)
But I really hope it will continue to look this good and you will loose your ponytail band ;-))
As a fellow curly this intrigued me (product junkie anyone?). I found it on ebay. It does a beautiful job on your curls so I hope it is easily found for you. My hair obsession has been replaced by my nail obsession so I'm not tempted (much). May it be a keeper when put to the test!
ReplyDeleteI'm a curly, but my curls are looser. I struggle to find things that keep my hair soft, too. Have you ever tried Carole's Daughter? It's great product. I also really like Kerastase styling cream. It's not specific for curls, but my curls love it!
ReplyDeletegorgeous curls!!!
ReplyDeleteI too have curly hair although not a curly as yours, more long ringlets like Shirley Temple, and I do keep my shorter but have you tried Wen by Chazz Dean? I love the styling creme they sell. It makes my curls stay together and takes all the frizz away, and the shampoo is fantastic on my hair. Also there is Miss Jessie's Pillow Soft Curls. It is for a fluffy soft curls. It does smells like fabric softener but makes the curls very nice.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of those - I definitely need to try them! Thanks!
DeleteMy Sally Beauty Supply has Hair One, which I've been told is comparable to Wen but much cheaper. It's about $10 for a 12 oz bottle. It's a shampoo + conditioner/cowash without the nasty transition period stuff. It's my second favorite behind DevaCurl.
DeleteBeautiful! I've got 3a curls and have only recently stopped fighting them. I'm still trying to find my HG products. So far, DevaCurl is my favorite line, but I'm constantly on the lookout for a less costly alternative. I'm excited to see how you like this product after some time.
ReplyDeleteWell halfway into day 2 - Do Not Like. Which makes me sad. BUT I'm a 4a so honestly it might be worth a shot on 3a hair! It did last longer than anything else I've tried lately.
DeleteI've joined your pointless cafe and look forward to seeking more of your wonderful post.
