Ready for another indie collection? I can never get enough! This one is from Kat at Maya Cosmetics and it's called
What Kind of Party? There are three polishes in this collection: Gathering, Hootenanny and Shindig and Kat has also created a "glitter tamer" to go over the chunkier glitters. It's not named yet, but I get to test it out!

Let's get started with the glitterbomb of the bunch,
Hootenanny. This one is basically a grey and holo glitter polish. Clear base loaded with holo microglitter and grey glitter pieces. This one could be worn alone with 2 to 3 coats but I've layered 2 coats over Pure Ice Silver Mercedes. The holo is amazing and impossible to capture. The depth and sparkle on the nail is great. Application was easy and smooth, no issues. Everything spread nicely on the nail and laid perfectly flat. I used Kat's "glitter tamer" as a top coat instead of Gelous and WOW that stuff works! In my opinion, it's better than Gelous and applies well. Perfectly smooth to the touch with the one coat. I'd been warned of the smell and being highly sensitive to smells I was a bit concerned but I didn't even smell it! I remembered and when I put my nails up to my nose I did smell that strong smell (like you get with Kleancolor polish) a bit, but those smells never really bother me. It's added fake scent that kills me. I had zero issues with the smell of the "glitter tamer."

Next, let's have a look at Shindig. This one is a clear base with gold and duochrome shimmer (and possibly some holo shimmer?) with small gold and white squares and small, short, gold bar glitters. This one isn't a glitterbomb, but it spreads nicely and evenly on the nail. No dabbing required, everything laid perfectly flat. I've layered 2 coats of this one over a plain black creme on all but the accent nail where I used 2 coats over Pure Ice Viva Las Vegas. One coat of Poshe made this one perfectly smooth to the touch.

Finally, we have Gathering. This one is a very sparkly, rainbow shimmer topper. The layering possibilities are endless here so I just decided to layer one coat of it over a plain black creme and let it shine. This is one of those "can't stop moving your nails around in the light and getting distracted like a magpie" polishes.
