Jessica Custom Nail Colour vs Chanel April, May and June

Tonight I have a comparison for you between the Jessicas and the Chanels.

I've heard that some people are touting Jessica Desire, Flirtation and Love Story as possible dupes for Chanel April, May and June. So I thought we would just take a look and see for ourselves.

First up - Chanel April vs Jessica Desire. Two coats of each - no top coat. Definitely not dupes. (Pure Ice Rumors is almost an exact dupe for Chanel April. To see that comparison post, click here.)

Next up, Chanel May vs Jessica Flirtation. I passed on Chanel May because pink isn't my favorite unless they're really opaque and have a perfect formula and I found Chanel May to be a little more finicky that I prefer for a color I don't love.

So...I've used the tester at my Chanel counter to swatch May on my pinky so I could compare for you.
Three coats of May and 2 coats of Flirtation. No top coat. Not dupes, but I definitely prefer Flirtation because it's more opaque, has a creamier formula and looks better with my skin-tone. (Sorry about the hurried messy application!)

And finally, Chanel June vs Jessica Love Story. I love June and in my opinion, it would be the hardest one of the three to dupe. But hold on! Ding ding ding! We have a winner! In my opinion (and I don't use the word dupe lightly) Jessica Love Story is true dupe for Chanel June.

What do you think? I'm personally stunned that Love Story is such a perfect match for June! I'm still good with my decision not to get May and I'm perfectly happy with Flirtation. Better formula and better shade for my skin-tone.

Just for the record I prefer Desire to April too because it's a little darker and less like that 80s dusty mauve/pink/red of April. Formulas were comparable on those two and on Love Story and June. Formula was better on Flirtation than May.

I think April and May are still both available at Chanel but June was an LE and is no longer available at Chanel.

    I prefer the Jessica Desire as well. Those mauvey colors are so hard to keep from veering into gramma territory. This was a very useful, informative post, thank you.
    I love a true dupe, but I wish you had been the one who did posts comparing Revlon Carbonite to Chanel Graphite-would have saved me the four dollars. XD

      Well Carbonite isn't a true dupe of Graphite IMO. Not even close to the color shifts. OPI Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous is though!

    I don't know if it's my computer monitor (probably), but I'm reading June as being a smidgen lighter than Love Story. Both are lovely, of course. Great comparison!

      If it is, it's just in the very strong lighting up close. I honestly had to swatch them twice because I'd forgotten which one was on which nail and couldn't tell. ♥
