KBShimmer Spring Collection 2013 |
KBShimmer is excited to announce the addition of 9 new colors to their 3-Free glitter polish line. Owner Christy Rose says "With Easter, warmer weather, and Spring Break fast approaching February is the ideal time to introduce softer pastels to our lineup, but also to add a splash of bold color."
The spring lineup includes three glitter top coats, two bold jellies, and four creamy pastels, one of which is scented. "Our new line was created to play off the softer palette of spring, but also to accent unique glitters like small black dots and spring 2013 Pantone colors like the color of the year, Emerald Green. We are also excited to debut this collection in our new printed bottles. With the printed bottles, and our glitter grabbing flat brush, we feel our polish is a solid addition to any collection" says Rose.
KBSHIMMER - SPRING 2013 COLLECTION
A Dot Mess - Fuchsia and black dots, hexes, and micro slices in a clear base - Top Coat.
I layered this one over Illamasqua Grab and the formula and application were perfect. No issues at all. One coat of KBShimmer's new top coat and I was in love. I layered it over black on the thumb.
Pastel Me More - Pastel colored glitters in a rainbow of colors and range of sizes - Top Coat.
I layered this one over a bright purple (Kiko #333) and on the thumb over SoFlaJo White Sensation so you could get a better look at it. Again, no issues at all. Everything spread nicely on the nail and laid perfectly flat.
Squared Away - Square glitters in a variety of sizes, colors and finishes including metallic and holographic in a clear base - Top Coat.
I layered this one over Illamasqua Cameo. Same formula and application as Pastel Me More. No issues at all! One coat of KBShimmer's new top coat for photos.

Spring Training - Soft green crelly full of pink, purple, blue and green floral toned glitters, scented with a floral freesia note - Full coverage in 2-3 coats.
This one I applied with no base color - 3 light coats on its own for full opacity. One coat of KBShimmer's new top coat for photos. No issues at all with formula or application but I'm very sensitive to added scents so this one will be a no-go for me ONLY because of the scent. The top coat didn't mask the smell so I had to remove it immediately. (The surprise scent was MY fault for not reading the press release closely enough. It's clearly stated.) For those not sensitive to added scents, I think you will love it. The color and formula are amazing.
Where My Peeps At - Soft yellow crelly with circle and tiny hex glitter in fun jelly bean like shades - Full coverage in 2-3 coats.
I also wore this with no base color- 3 light coats alone for full opacity and no issues to report at all. The formula and application are perfect and the way the circle glitters are suspended in the 3 light coats gives it amazing depth. Yellow usually hates me, but the feeling is not mutual with this one. And ya gotta LOVE that name! One coat of KBShimmer's new top coat for photos.

Lottie Dottie - Turquoise and fuchsia dots and coordinating glitters micro slices in a soft white base - Full coverage in 2-3 coats.
I used only 2 medium coats of this one alone. Same great formula as the others. No issues at all. One coat of KBShimmer's new top coat for photos.
Iris My Case - Violet pastel crelly with glitters in purple, pink, silver and blue - Full coverage in 2-3 coats.
This one was my favorite of the milky bases. I adore the violet glitters. Same formula and application as the others. Perfection. One coat of KBShimmer's new top coat for photos.
Get Clover It - Emerald green jelly with micro shimmer and circle glitter in shades of green, gold and turquoise- Best in 3 coats or layered over coordinating polish to cover nail line.
This one has a perfect jelly base and I used 3 coats of it alone for opacity. The glitters are all suspended perfectly and I had no issues with formula or application at all. One coat of KBShimmer's new top coat for photos.
I Got A Crush On Blue - Royal blue jelly with holographic silver glitters ranging from micro to extra large- Best in 3 coats or layered over coordinating polish to cover nail line.
This one was the same great formula of Get Clover It. No issues at all. I used 2 coats of this one over piCture pOlish Cosmos and one coat of KBShimmer's new top coat for photos.
As for the fast-dry top coat...it's great! Dries super fast to a high shine and covered all the glitter polishes in one coat!
So what do you think of this collection? Personally, I was extremely pleased with all but Spring Training and that was only because of the added scent. The whole collection is amazing. My favorites? That's a hard one but I have to say Iris My Case and Get Clover It. No wait. Maybe I Got a Crush on Blue. No! A Dot Mess. Final Answer. Which were your favorites?

This is an amazing collection!! Thank you for mentioning the scent, I won't be able to handle that one either. But there are several that I love! My 3 favorites are Get Clover It, Iris My Case and A Dot Mess - followed closely by Lottie Dottie, I Got a Crush on Blue and Squared Away. She did a great job!
ReplyDeleteSpring Training is cute, and I especially love Lottie Dottie and Iris My Case. I really like milky bases.
ReplyDeleteI really wish she had made an unscented version of Spring Training. I'm not overly sensitive to scents, but I don't care for florals and I don't like the idea of scented polish. I hope it doesn't bother me because I really want to order that one.
ReplyDeleteI Got a Crush on Blue looks super-duper-awesomely-amazing in your pics! I already know that's going to be my fave! :D
I am a loyal fan but don't choose to use Facebook. How can I enter the giveaway?
ReplyDeleteLottie Dottie is awesome!
ReplyDeleteAnd haha, too bad I don't use facebook xD
OMG!!! KB Shimmer polishes are one of my two all time favorite polish lines. I really want all of the polishes in the Spring collection especially Spring Training, Where My Peeps At? and Get Clover it... Thank you so much for the chance to win Spring Training, cause I'm not allowed to buy anymore polishes :)
ReplyDeleteGreat job Sheila! I love your photos. Guess which ones I like... purple and blue. I know SHOCKER!! Thank you for hosting this contest since I am currently on a no buy :(
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I love all of these... I really wish I could buy directly from them, but alas I'm in Canada and these ones aren't up on Harlow&Co yet.
ReplyDeleteI love this collection! I got a couple colors from the holiday collection, and love them as well. Gotta support those Indiana girls!
ReplyDeleteOk...I am sold! Definitely getting two from this collection and I've heard so many good things about the topcoat that I have to try that as well!
