Good morning - it's FRIDAY! This morning I'm working on a St. Patrick's Day Collection that I'll be showing you this evening but I wanted to show you quick swatches of the latest Milani High Speed Fast Dry Collection this morning so you'll have something to look at while I'm swatching.
I was hoping these would be the same colors as the Milani Texture Collection I showed you last night - but without the sand. But it's not. There are 6 new colors, though.
Milani: Pink Express, Flaming Race, Rapid Orchid, Instant Pearl, Quick Teal and Move On Mauve |
These swatches are all with two coats and NO top coat. Great formula and coverage and super shiny. All cremes except for Instant Pearl. No issues at all to report except that you can see that Instant Pearl is streaky. The application was great but streaks no matter what. Eighties anyone? The only other issue I have with these is the name of Rapid Orchid. I used the harshest, brightest light source I could find and that's as light as it gets, folks. With one coat you can tell it's somewhat aubergine but it takes two coats and by then it's just basically black. At least on me.

And a quick comparison with Dior Nirvana because I've already been asked about it...same family for sure, just a few shades lighter.

What do you think of their latest offering? The pink is actually very saturated and not being a pink person I was pleased with this one. The teal is also quite nice.
Milani polishes are available at retailers and e-tailers throughout the US and usually retail for around $4.49. I believe these were $3.99 each.
If you enjoyed this post, please take a second to "like" it! Thanks!

These are gorgeous, but not very unique. The only one I don't really like is Instant Pearl.
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila, this collection was either a hit or miss for me...I loved some of the colors and hated others. Did they live up to their fast dry promise?
ReplyDeleteWell I'm a child of the 60s and 70s so anything made today is "fast dry" for me. LOL! But I think so. The formula is good so application is quick and easy with no clean up and unless I'm taking swatch photos, I use Poshe right away, so I don't usually notice unless it takes forever. These were normal "fast dry" I guess.
DeleteI am going to have to pick up a couple of these! But Milani needs to learn what an Orchid looks like! LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL - yes, yes they do.
Deletelove the high shine
ReplyDeleteI'm glad someone is featuring Milani. It doesn't show up much on blogs. I think it is a good brand that has a reasonable price and is easy to find. Up to this point, it seems to be cruelty free which always makes me feel better. I will agree about the colors, nothing really outstanding. Maybe they were going for a Black Orchid!
ReplyDeleteI love the teal one :)
ReplyDeleteI loved the first set of Milani fast dries. I use them for a lot of nail art and water marbles and stamping. But these just dont do it much for me. :( I do think I will get the Pink Express, Flaming Race and rapid Orchid. I am not a fan of the streaky foil type ones. Great job Sheila once again!
ReplyDeleteI agree - so eighties since I have been there done that quick Teal would be my pick ;-)!!!
