Digital Nails - Serenity and Leviathan

I'm baaaaaack! This time I have a couple of polishes from Digital Nails to show you: Serenity and Leviathan.

This is a new-to-me brand and I was excited to try them. First a little about the creator: she's a "nerd" and a fellow Texan and a polish nut. The Trifecta! Her polishes are 3-free and cruelty-free.

First up, Serenity. Here's what the creator had to say about this one:

This jewel-toned beauty is made with color shifting glitter and goes from magenta to teal depending on the angle at which it is viewed. The color shift effect works in any lighting, not just sunshine. If you are a Joss Whedon fan, you'll know the name Serenity is inspired by the star ship in the television series (that was cancelled way before it had a chance to thrive) Firefly, and the follow up film, Serenity. The series has since developed a cult following - with hordes of lifelong fans, disgruntled by the abrupt and unnatural ending. It really does have everything you could want - drama, comedy, wonderfully clever writing, it oozes with cheeky camp and sexual tension. You care about the good guys, and you love to hate the bad ones. It holds a very special place in my little nerdy heart.

I used 2 light coats of this one over a plain black creme and 3 coats alone on the ring finger. In my opinion, this one is a layering polish and looks best over a base color. The formula is a bit thick to achieve opacity alone. The formula wasn't TOO thick and I had no issues whatsoever with it over the base color. It's just not for wearing "without indies." Glitters came out of the bottle and spread nicely on the nail, lying perfectly flat. One light coat of Poshe top coat for the photos.

Leviathan. Here's what the creator had to say about this one:

This multi-toned beauty is made with rare and very expensive color shifting glitter and goes from royal blue flecked with purple to amber depending on the angle at which it is viewed. You may recognize it from the unfortunately discontinued Ozotic Pro Elytra series. The color shift effect works in any lighting, not just sunshine. If you are a Jim Henson fan, you'll know the name Leviathan is inspired by the biological race of star ships in the television series Farscape. The name also refers to an ancient Sea Monster dating back to biblical times. I think this name suits this polish perfect;y - the deep royal blue polish, speckled with purple acts as a reminder of both the ocean, and also the night sky. The rusty amber color, the end spectrum of this multi chromatic color shifter, is reminiscent of the outer hull of the Leviathan species, and is also regularly seen used depicting the ancient sea serpents, or Kraken in art. The unexpected disruption from one color to another is what makes this polish so special.

Leviathan had the same formula as Serenity - no issues at all! But it is a layering polish - best suited with a base color/"undies." I used two light easy coats of this one over a plain black creme. One light coat of Poshe for the photos.

What do you think of these two? I love the color-shifting glitters. Which is your favorite? I think I have to go with Serenity.
