Tonight I have a couple of new Elevation Polishes to show you from the View From The Top Collection - Jengish Chokusu and Haba Xueshan.
And a comparison to Chanel Nouvelle Vague at the end! Is Jengish Chokusu a Chanel Nouvelle Vague dupe?
Elevation Polish Jengish Chokusu and Haba Xueshan |
First up, Elevation Polish Jengish Chokusu. This is what the maker had to say about this one:
Color: Jengish Chokusu
Description: Sea glass creme. Simple and beautiful with no shimmers. Great shine by itself. 2-3 coats for full coverage. First coat may go on streaky, second coat evens the color.
Finish: Creme
Inspiration: Part of "The view from the top" Collection
Sea glass creme is the perfect description! I used two coats of this one alone with no top coat for the photos. Formula was great and it's totally self-leveling!

Next up, Elevation Polish Haba Xueshan. This one is described by the maker as follows:
Color: Haba Xueshan
Description: Glitter topper featuring an elevation polish spin on the classic black and white glitter polish. It’s got various black and white glitters (hexes, squares, light on the white bar glitter) and glacier colored matte circle glitter in two sizes in a clear base.
Finish: Heavy glitter
Inspiration: Part of "The view from the top" collection
The aqua/turquoise circle glitters really make this one for me! No issues at all with application or formula. All the glitters came out of the bottle easily and spread nicely on the nail, lying perfectly flat. I used Jengish Chokusu as the base color along with a couple of swipes of Pure Ice Black Velour as accents so you could see it over both colors. One light coat of Poshe for the photos.

And finally...how does Jengish Chokusu compare to Chanel Nouvelle Vague? Well, actually, it's the closest thing to Nouvelle Vague I've found. They're not dupes. Nouvelle Vague has just the slightest smidge more green in it and it has the "hidden shimmer." They're both opaque in 2 coats and the formulas are both self-leveling. Can you tell from arm's length that they are slightly different? Nope.

Final thoughts? Well it's not a dupe - Elevation Polish doesn't have to dupe anyone! Their formulas and colors are magnificent. However, if you don't want to pay $$$ for Nouvelle Vague on eBay because it's HTF? THIS ONE is the one you want.
So what do you think of these two? I love them both and I love them together!
