Zoya Pixie Dust Collection 2013

Tonight I finally have the Zoya Pixie Dust Collection to show you!

This collection consists of 6 shades of textured polish:

Godiva - Soft Nude sparkle

Chyna - Red Dazzle sparkle

London - Fog Gray sparkle

Dahlia - Black Beauty sparkle

Vespa - Mint Kiss sparkle

Nyx - Perfect Periwinkle sparkle

I'll just go ahead and address the formula and application now because it was the same on all 6 of them. As you would expect, it feels a little like it has sand in the polish but I had no issues with either formula or application. You do need to apply thin coats and let each coat dry between. I used no base coat and 2 coats of polish. I've included photos of each one without top coat and with one coat of Poshe top coat. They did take just a tad longer to dry but nothing that was troublesome and NOTHING like "the old days."

What do YOU think? After trying some of the other "textured" polishes (*cough Milani cough*) I was prepared to hate them. However, the finer particles along with the glitter elevate them head and shoulders above the others. Godiva and Chyna are my favorites. It's not something I would wear every day for ME, but if you're into the textures, you are going to love them.

These polishes, as well as 100s of other great Zoya polishes, retail for $8 each on zoya.com. You can also follow them on Facebook to get in on their frequent promotions and discounts as well as other information.

  1. Fantastic and very thorough review! I love the half top coated, half non-topcoated pics! I also love the nail art! GORGEOUS! I also now need that red and darker black one.

  4. You have great swatches as usual. Forgive me for saying this, I'm going to blame it on working in a hospital, but Chyna without top coat looks like bleeding scabs. I am trying to keep an open mind but so far the texture thing is not happening for me. I do like how they look with a tc but that sorta defeats the purpose a little.

  5. Amazing swatches! And I love the half topcoat shots! This is something I've never seen before but really shows the difference between "top coated" and not "top coated". Great idea!

  7. I am afraid I still can't get excited about the texture...but I LOVE the polished/glossy versions, lol! And from what I see...Zoyas are just better looking than the other brands (just my taste!)

  11. I'm not keen on them honestly. They look lovely with a topcoat but I suppose that defeats the purpose of them :P I really like your nail art at the end.

  12. I only got NYX and I'm loving it! I was concerned that they would have a rough feeling to the touch, but they're so soft!
I think this 'texture' trend is something different to do with our nails but I'm not sure it'll last long....:)

  16. I've been trying to get into the textured polishes, I have some of the OPI's but I do have to say I just LOVE them with top coats! I know, it's not the point of the polish but don't you just feel like it gives the manicure depth? It's almost like when you're looking into the shallow end of a lake/pond and you can see all the way to the bottom (rocks, shells, sand, etc.) That's the way I feel when you put a topcoat on textures.
