Alter Ego Nail Enamel - Vintner

Good evening! Tonight I have a reformulated polish from Alter Ego Polish: Vintner!

She's recently reformulated the bases she uses and I'm wearing Vintner. I had purchased this one before but I really don't remember it that well - I do remember it being rather gritty. However, no chance I'm forgetting this bottle.

Vintner is described by the maker as follows: Wine, consumed reasonably, can be wonderful!  From what I understand, most wine is made with purple grapes, but some grapes used are pink & green, so that is what the colors of this polish are! Mostly purple with a little pink & green glitter.

When I got this in the mail, I was wearing one light coat of Color Club Eternal Beauty so I put it on right away. I used 2 light coats for the photos. These polishes are what I call "settling glitters." That doesn't mean anything to me other than they need to be shaken before use. I didn't have any trouble at all getting the glitters to suspend for application. I took photos without top coat as well as with one coat of Poshe top coat so you could see that it's not a super gritty polish and it dries semi-matte. The top coat really makes it POP!

I'm sure most people would wear this with top coat, but just so you can see, here are a few photos of it without top coat...

I actually liked it both ways and even without a top coat, it's not too rough and didn't seem to catch on my clothes or anything. I'm very glad the creator sent me a re-formulated bottle for a review of her new base. I will be trying more from her.

What do you think of this one? Personally I loved the mix of colors in this one - I LOVE purple and green together - it's my favorite color combo, especially for spring. And the fuchsia/berry glitters are a lovely compliment.

Alter Ego polishes can be purchased at her Store Envy Store here and you can follow her on Facebook here to stay up-to-date on new polishes, re-stocks, see swatches, etc. Full-sized bottles retail for $8.50 each.
