If you haven't seen my post on Elevation Polish Pic de Sotllo - GO! I'll wait...
Okay, understandably, a few people have already asked how it compares to some of the others out there. So I thought I would do a quickie comparison post for you using Revlon Royal, Nails Inc. Baker Street, Nails Inc. Southwark and Essie Butler Please. (UPDATE: I've added a nine polish comparison of blues at the end!)

More swatches and my thoughts after the jump...
First, here's one coat of each of the polishes...

I can say right away regarding Revlon Royal and Essie Butler, Please: Ain't Nobody Got Time for That! Seriously, not a fan of either formula.

Okay, so you know what I think of Revlon Royal - three coats later and it was still streaky and I had VNL. I didn't even bother to show that one in most of the pics. And I believe it may not be cruelty-free any longer. It's a true jelly and not a crelly.
Essie Butler Please was okay after the 2nd coat, but it's a creme, not a crelly and the white in the base definitely takes it out as a contender. Essie isn't cruelty-free.
I'm a HUGE fan of Nails Inc. polishes as you guys probably know. The formula was great on both of these, but we can go ahead and take Baker Street out of the running because it's a creme, not a crelly and has white in the base as well.
That leaves Nails Inc. Southwark. It's a smidge darker than Pic de Sotllo and has about half a smidge more purple in it - not sure that translated well in the photos. They are close though! So I'd say which one you'd choose between Southwark and Pic de Sotllo would depend on where you are in the world. I'm not sure I've seen Southwark at Sephora (which is the only place in the US where you can purchase Nails Inc. polishes) and it's more expensive than the $8.50 per bottle for the Elevation Polish. Elevation polishes are available at the Elevation Big Cartel site and at Llarowe, who ships worldwide.
Also, I'm a huge fan of Elevation Polish and of Lulu, the creative genius behind Elevation Polish. It's a great indie polish brand and the customer service, quality control, etc. is just unsurpassed.
So my vote goes to Elevation Polish Pic de Sotllo.
What is your pick?

ReplyDeleteAnd I am totally wiping Revlon and Essie off my list. Don't need them!
I definitely do need Elevation. Now I'm only wondering about the Nail Inc, especially since I have SC Most Sinful which is suppose to be rather close to those... hmmm.........
