I know Mondays have a bad connotation for a lot of people, I've been one of those people in the past, but now I really enjoy Mondays and getting back to my routine. We usually take the boat out on Mondays if the weather permits and today it finally cooperated! I've been wanting to show you my new Rabeanco Bonham II handbag for a while, but here in usually sunny, usually drought-stricken South Texas, it's been rainy! I'm not complaining, mind you. I wish it would rain every day. But I was finally able to get some photos of this bag for you.

First, this is my FAVORITE color. It's a very saturated violet (called magenta on the Rabeanco site) that really goes with so much of my wardrobe. You can dress it up or down and it holds a TON.

Here's what Rabeanco had to say about the Bonham II:

This satchel's bold architectural lines are eloquently balanced by the softness the smooth leather conveys. Antique brass hardware, hand painted edges and elongated zipper tabs accentuate the visual appearance that makes this bag distinctive. Even the front zipper pocket, ideal for essentials, was hidden to ensure functionality did not disrupt the Bonham's aesthetic look. The detachable shoulder strap adds the versatility to use this satchel as a cross-body bag.
Dimensions: 14.75" (L) x 1" (W) x 14.5" (H)

Continued after the jump...

I'm always reluctant to include photos of myself because I'm not photogenic, but in order for you to get an idea of the bag's size, I've sucked it up. ♥ (For size reference, I'm 5'1" (155cm) and 110 pounds.)

Here's what they didn't say in the description on the website:  There are two different sized slide pockets inside as well as an inside zipper pocket. There is a key lanyard attached inside as well. Also comes packaged with a nice cloth drawstring dustbag.

The adjustable shoulder strap is attached with swivels so you're not constantly straightening it out. The stitching on this bag is amazingly well-done.

Since this is one of my favorite colors, I have lots of nail polish to match but I chose Enchanted Polish May 2013 as my matching mani for most of these photos. (In some of the photos above, I'm wearing BB Couture Happy Hooker - giggle.)

Honestly, there are so many positives about this bag, including the stitching and the black resin edges that are done like many of my other high end bags. The details of it are typical of much more expensive bags and yet this one retails for $398. As with anything, if you look hard enough, you can always find a negative or two. For me, I love slouchy bags with smooshy leather (which this one has) but if you go by the photos on the site expecting that structured look, you'll be disappointed. They've sewn in a triangular pieces of leather on either side of the bag to give it that gorgeous, distinctive profile you see on the site...

Just know that once you take out the stuffing and put your own things in it, it's smooshy and unstructured. That's fine for me, but if you're looking for a structured bag, check out some of their other more structured styles on the site.

Well what do you think? I'm pretty excited to see high-end leather bags with all the details you'd expect in a more expensive bag for more down-to-earth pricing. The major plus for me is that they're not trying to copy anyone. There's no "inspired by" going on - they've used their own creativity and design style to create their own unique look. I can't TELL you how much that means to me. I have Hermes bags and $10 canvas bags from Walmart that I've hand-painted to suit me. And everything in between. I'm an equal-opportunity handbag lover in spite of the label/price. But just PLEASE don't copy. Kudos to Rabeanco for that!

Rabeanco is already pretty well-known in Europe but they're finally making it to the US. Last month, they launched their online boutique and in July 2013 they will open their first US brick and mortar store in Beverly Hills, CA.

The Bonham II retails for $398.00.

  7. You're making me wish I hadn't already bought my new summer bag! This color is pretty much the best, and the price is comparable to my usual favorite lines pelle.

Question--for those of us who missed out on the enchanted may 2013... Are there any polishes that might help fill my lemming? I was actually thinking a good holo top coat with a base that matches the color might be my best bet?

    P.s. I love your blog!
