Color Story: Red - Sunday Swatch Spam

I love red nail polish. Classic, sophisticated, never out of style. So I thought I would show you a few of my favorite reds. There are so many shades of red that I can't cover them all and I have so many different red polishes that I could probably do a years worth of "Red of the Day" posts. But I won't.

So I've pulled a few of my personal favorites.

Continued after the jump...

The lighter ones...

Sooki - 3 coats / Dragon - 1 coat / Throb - 1 coat / Roja - 3 coats

Devious - 3 coats / 2 coats on the other three

2 coats on all

2 coats on all (Malice could be a 1-coater though)

Metallic. There's only one of these (Perceval) because I am not a fan of metallic reds. This is the ONLY one I've liked so far...

2 coats on all

Holos...

Glitters...

It's hard to say what my favorite red is though. Sometimes I want a lighter red and sometimes I want a full-on vamp!

Chanel Dragon and Illamasqua Throb are both one-coaters and the formula on both is perfection. I also love the candy apple red of Kiko 240. But they don't have that "crelly/jelly" look about them - they're creamier.

For that crelly look, I adore Chanel Lotus Rouge and the ever-so-vampy Chanel Rouge Noir.

For a vampy shimmer, Chanel Malice. Favorite sparkly red? Ozotic 621.

  7. Wow, what an amazing post. Ruby Pumps is my go-to. And an ancient bottle of Lancome Vernis Triple Tenue 131 that I occasionally pull out for a treat - it's still good! I don't know if it's still made, but it's a stunning, perfect blood red.

But after this post, Ozotic 621 is calling my name...

  9. There are some I could never afford (Chanel, Dior) but some of these other brands of reds are doable on my tiny budget. Glad you posted, it's nice to know the brands & shade names for guidance. Love reds, I'd forgotten how much!
