Okay okay...people keep asking for photos of my stash and how I store them. All I can say is BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU ASK FOR!
I have some storage solutions I'm happy with, some makeshift solutions that will need to change eventually and some NON-solutions that drive me totally batty. So here it is...the good, the bad and the ugly.
The only thing I'm not showing you is my desk area and boxes of donation polishes. I feel like I'm already stripping down to my bikini, but I'm not going to bare it ALL! At least not right now.
Continued after the jump...
First up, a few shots of some of the polishes I have the most of..."the good" wall storage shelves.
To see the posts on me making these shelves and other storage solutions see posts here and here and here and here.
And Koh's own little storage box...
"The bad" - makeshift storage...
And "the ugly" - plastic storage bins...
Large 3-Drawer...
And in my office next to my desk/swatching station, a medium 3 bin plastic storage unit with wheels that I keep next to me for the polishes I still need to swatch/just recently swatched and haven't put away yet...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Now...aren't you sorry you asked?
Each quarter (sometimes monthly) I donate polish to local women's shelters and nursing homes and I still feel like I'm drowning in polish. But man, what a way to go!
Does anyone need that much polish? Well DUH - of course not. And I didn't set out to have this much polish, but having a nail polish blog pretty much means you're gonna have too much polish.
If you enjoyed this post, please take a second to "like" it! Thanks!
.
oh my goodness! any idea how many bottles that is?
ReplyDeleteThat is truly amazing! How long have you been into polish? And, this maybe a really good reason for me to NOT start a blog, LOL!
ReplyDeleteHow many bottles join the family every month? I have a few CG racks the stack them 3 deep and and some alot are laying flat stacked in the box and lids of these huge chocolate boxes like trays.
ReplyDeleteI love the shelves you have, did you buy or make them? I like being able to see what is in the bottle :)
well feel free to send us soem you dont want :)
ReplyDeleteSo what is your total?
ReplyDeleteAMAZING! It actually all looks pretty good to me!
ReplyDeleteWow, love to see stash pictures, your stash is incredible!!
ReplyDeleteI am loving your wall storage! To be able to have them all lined up like that to admire them on a daily basis? *bliss* Living in earthquake country though, I would be so paranoid that the "big one" would come along and all my lovelies would come crashing down! I have a question - where did you get those adorable polka dot baskets?
ReplyDeleteWell... that was... exhausting. hehe holy moly girl you are SWIMMINGGGGGGGGGGG!
ReplyDeletePure awesome.
ReplyDeleteI don't really know the exact count because there are so many in and out every month. Keeping track of what's coming IN isn't a problem, but by the time I take the polishes OUT, I'm too lazy to mark off what they are. My guess is around 3k.
ReplyDeleteI made the shelves! If you'll search "storage shelves" you can see the post where I posted about how, etc. BUT if you're in Earthquake country or have little ones, you could just put one extra piece of wood along each shelf to keep them in.
I got the polka dot ones at Lowe's and the racks on the top in the bath section of Walmart.
GREAT FOR DONATIONS TO A WOMAN SHELTER!!!! kudos for you that's why the Universe is so good to you in this job nails related journey GREAT GREAT GREAT
ReplyDeleteThank you for showing your fantastic nail polish collection! :-) I think it's very interesting to see which brands others have, and how it is stored. :-)
ReplyDeleteEhrm... WOW. It's all I can say right now, I am senseless. And jealous.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Of course no one need so much nail polish, but appearantly you want them. And that's absolutely OK. :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a lot of polish. You could start a store. You already have all the inventory.
ReplyDeleteYay! I love your stash pics! Is Nails Inc still your favourite???
ReplyDeleteDonating polishes is a GREAT idea <3
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of polish. Can I go shopping in your stash? We could consider it a donation? LoL so have you counted them all? So you know how many you have in total right now?

I've searched the posts that come up under "Storage shelves" but I can't find the how-to post. Could you please post/include a direct link to that post?
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
I've included links to my other posts in the body of the post - it won't let me post clickable links in comments. ♥
Deletewow that is so amazing! Just amazing! Thanks for sharing :D
ReplyDeleteGah!!! So many!!! How many do you own or have you lost count?
ReplyDeleteWoah. I need to stop hassling my friend about her collection lol :P I think its awesome, nothing wrong with it if you enjoy it imo!!! I may also be a teensy bit jealous :D
ReplyDeleteDo you ever worry that some of them will become discolored from exposure to light?
ReplyDeleteNot really - There's no direct sunlight on them.
DeleteI've heard it can happen just from any kind of light, but I'm rather paranoid lol. I'd love to display my polishes on wall racks, but I'm just too scared of them falling or going funky!
DeleteWOW!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Do you still keep polish when it starts to separate or go bad after a while?
ReplyDeletehttp://beckyalyssasbeautybox.wordpress.com
I've been collecting polish for YEARS and I've never had one "go bad." Most polishes will separate some after so long but a quick shake sets them right.
DeleteI'm soooo happy to hear that you donate polishes! That's such a nice thing to di for the less fortunate
ReplyDeleteAre there any polishes you don't have...?
ReplyDeleteSo jealous! Thank you so much for baring all and posting this.
ReplyDeletewould love to get a closer peak at what's inside all those boxes. Great stash you got! wow. amazing.
ReplyDeleteI have the same exact racks from Wal-mart to store my polish!!! :D
ReplyDeleteOMG. This is amazing, and my hubby has decided that he is going to copy your design for your wall racks, if you don't mind. I ABSOLUTELY ADORE your Zoya collection. It costs a fortune here in Australia, so the only ones I have are a couple I've picked up when I've bought someones grab sales or destash sales in bulk lots. Living in Tasmania is amazing in most respects, but when it comes to nail polish, it stinks. Thanks for sharing all your amazing storage ideas and inspiring me to get mine organised, especially because it's given my hubby ideas to build for me, and if he won't, I'll do it myself. You made it look so simple in your first post about the wall rack.
