Zoya PixieDust Fall 2013 Collection - Swatches and Review

*These products are Cruelty Free

Are you ready for more highly saturated textured polishes for Fall? Well Zoya has just released their Fall 2013 PixieDust Collection and they certainly fit the bill.

Within this collection of 6 new shades, there are four one-coaters! So pull up a chair and grab a cup of coffee (or your beverage of choice, although when there's coffee, who wants anything else?) because there are a LOT of photos.

Continued after the jump...

So let's get started. Alphabetically? Why not.

Formula on these were all about the same except where noted below. I had no issues with any of them.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Arabella - Rich Fuchsia - I'd say fuchsia is a good description. It's a great saturated berry color. One coat. Silver and fuchsia micro-glitter/shimmer.

Carter - Regal Purple - Definitely. It's a violet purple. Very saturated. This one, however, will take two coats minimum. Three if you use thin coats. I used two medium coats. Magenta and violet purple micro-glitter/shimmer.

Chita - Emerald Green - I'd call this one a forest green. Again, very highly saturated. One coat perfection. Gold and green micro-glitter/shimmer.

Dhara - Dazzling Copper - Okay now here I must disagree. This is orange if ever I saw orange. Very color-saturated and just stunning. One coat. Gold, copper and orange micro-glitter/shimmer.

Sunshine - Van Gogh Blue - I'm not sure what van Gogh blue is exactly, but I'd describe it as indigo denim. Without top coat it really reminds me of brand new denim. One coat. Silver and blue micro-glitter/shimmer.

Tomoko - Glowing Silver - To my eye, this is more of a blonde or platinum gold rather than a straight silver. I used two coats of this one. Gold and silver micro-glitter/shimmer.

To see this one with top coat, check out the rainbow gradient nail art I did. Speaking of which...I had a little fun doing a "skittle gradient"...

And here it is with top coat...

Well there you have them! What do you think? I actually liked this PixieDust Collection better than the previous ones simply because of the color-saturation in each of them. There is also a LOT more sparkle in them, which is good, but it was bad for my camera. It wanted to show them as blurry in some photos only because they were SO sparkly.

So which are your favorites? Of course the berry and the purple were my favorites, just looking at promo photos, but after trying them, I fell in love with the blue and orange. The fact that those two are one-coaters didn't hurt anything!

These polishes, as well as 100s of other great Zoya polishes, are available on zoya.com, at select salons and spas and at Ulta. You can also follow Zoya on Facebook to get in on their frequent promotions and discounts as well as other information. The PixieDust polishes retail for $9 and their other polishes are still $8. Zoya lacquers are 5-free (free of DBP, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin and Camphor) and cruelty-free.

  2. Maybe they call it Van Gogh blue because it reminds me of the blue he used in his famous painting Starry Night.

I love these colors so much, even more so with top coat. Your skittle gradient is beautiful.
