Daphine Polish - Goddess of the Two Lands Collection - Nut and Sekhmet

*These products are Cruelty Free

Tonight I have two brand new shades to show you from Daphine Polish's Goddess of the Two Lands Collection: Nut and Sekhmet. There are a total of 6 shades in this collection.

This collection was launched yesterday (Friday August 23, 2013) at the Daphine Polish Etsy Store. She's also having a Labor Day Sale! See details at the end of the post.

Continued after the jump...

Nut - this is a deep blackened-blue shimmer polish with purple micro-glitter and more than just a little holographic shimmer. At certain angles, it reads charcoal grey because of the holo shimmer - see photo #3. No issues with formula or application at all. I used two coats and one coat of Poshe top coat for the photos.

Here's what the maker had to say:

A deep navy blue with purple glitter and a hint of holographic sparkle, Nut, goddess of the sky, is one of the first deities in Egyptian mythology. Her name is found in the creation myth of Heliopolis, among the oldest cities of Ancient Egypt. She is mainly depicted as a star-covered nude woman arching over the earth, or as a cow whose body covered the sky. One of her sacred symbols is a ladder, used by the god Osiris to climb into her heavens and become the god of the dead; she is seen as a protector of and friend to the deceased.

Sekhmet - this is medium-to-dark brown shimmer with red undertones. I see red and possibly violet micro-glitters and lots of shimmer. This dries shiny but you'll want a top coat if you don't want to feel the micro-glitter texture. No issues with formula or application on this one either. Two coats for full opacity and one coat of Poshe top coat for the photos.

Here's what the maker had to say:

A burgundy red with pops of pink and red sparkle, Sekhmet is the warrior goddess, in Upper Egypt also the goddess of healing, and is depicted with a lioness head. She also wears a headdress of the solar disk and uraeus (upright cobra) which associated her with royalty. She is seen as the protector of the Pharoahs and led them in warfare. Priestesses would perform daily rituals in order to placate her wrath, and after battles festivals were held in her honor so the destruction would end.

What do you think of these two? My favorite is Nut -  it really looks like an intense night sky full of stars.
