Comparison: Essie Starry Starry Night vs Maya Stargazing

I couldn't help but immediately think of Essie Starry Starry Night when I first saw Maya Stargazing so before everyone started asking, I thought I'd just a jump on comparing them.

If you missed my post on Maya Stargazing, click here.

So let's have a look! Two coats of both with no top coat...

Artificial lighting

As you can see, they're not dupes. But they're pretty close! They are both blue jelly polishes with silver micro-glitter.

Photos below are all indirect natural lighting.

Maya Stargazing's blue base is a little deeper/darker. Stargazing is definitely a two-coater while I have a tendency to apply three coats with the Essie. It's ok with two but in certain lighting you can see patches, making you wish you'd used three. I didn't have that with Stargazing - because of the darker blue base. I don't have Chanel Ceil de Nuit to compare, but I have a feeling it's probably a real contender for dupe status with that one.

For details on purchasing Maya Stargazing, see my review post here. (Note, there will be a coupon code - she's having a SALE from September 27 - 30, 2013.)

To purchase Essie Starry Starry Night, I wish you luck and/or a winning lotto ticket. They're super rare and very spendy when/if you do find them.

  2. Both are lovely! I think the Essie caught my eye, as the blue is a tad brighter and drew me in. Love them both, however.

  3. Stargazing is very pretty! I don't think either it or SSN would look very good on my hands and skintone, but I can admire :)
