Elevation Polish - The Stones Throw Collection
There are 5 polishes in this collection: one holographic polish, one shimmer, one creme, one micro-flake and one clear-based glitter...
Continued after the jump...
Let's just dive right in, shall we?
Epidote
Epidote is an olive green holographic polish with a perfect formula. Two coats for full opacity and no top coat for the photos. I had no issues at all with this one. My favorite type of holo, which I call (correctly or incorrectly) a tightly scattered holo. It almost has that linear effect but not quite and doesn't have the "spectraflair" look to it. *There is no spectraflair in this one but rather 2 different holographic pigments.

Limestone

Limestone is an off-white creme polish with gold shimmer and micro-flakes. No issues to report with this one either. As with most opaque white-ish cremes, it's a tad thicker than some other finishes but it's not too thick and applies smoothly and easily and is perfectly self-leveling, which is rare with opaque whites! I used two coats for full opacity and one coat of Dazzle Dry top coat. (Note: It dries to a semi-gloss finish on its own.)

And I had a little fun playing around with Limestone as a base and Epidote and The Arches II...

Quartz Monzonite
Quartz Monzonite is a clear-based glitter polish with pale grey, fuchsia and black glitters in circles, squares and hexes with bright yellow or chartreuse green micro-hexes and what appears to be red or orange shimmer or micro-shards. The glitter is dense and comes out of the bottle easily. No digging or dabbing at all. Everything spread nicely on the nail and laid perfectly flat. No issues to report at all. I used two light coats of this one over Elevation Polish River Rock as my base for my full mani with one coat of Poshe top coat for the photos. I've also used it over a few of the other colors as well so you could get a good look at it, as well as over a Stones Throw Skittles mani.

River Rock
River Rock is a dark, cool grey polish with what looks to be mainly copper shimmer but I also see violet, gold and green shimmer. The formula on this one was perfect - smooth and creamy. No issues at all. Two coats for full opacity and no top coat for the photos.

The Arches II
The Arches National Park, Utah Photo credit: ux1.eiu.edu |
The Arches II is a red-based orange creme that dries to a semi-gloss finish. The Arches has long been one of my favorite Elevation polishes and this one is the same color and finish but with a slightly better formula. It's a tad thinner than the original and it self-levels perfectly. No issues to report at all. I also have comparison photos of the original The Arches and The Arches II.

And I had a little fun with this one too - a gradient with Epidote...

Well that's The Stones Throw Collection - what do you think? It's pretty difficult for me to pick a favorite because they're all so different and special in their own way. But I'm going to pick Epidote I think. If I didn't already have and love The Arches, it might have been a tie between Epidote and The Arches II. Basically, I couldn't pick just one. I really love Limestone but I find it difficult to wear most whites. I do love how Quartz Monzonite pops over it though! And the formula is great.
