Nail of the Day: Chanel Blue Satin #461

Nothing to Disclose

I just have a quick Nail of the Day post for you right now - working on some gorgeous new polishes to show you later today.

I've had Blue Satin for a while and I'm just now wearing it? Sometimes I wonder about me. I used to HATE dark polishes on short nails, but I'm loving it now - and it matched my blouse, so...

Continued after the jump...

Blue Satin is a dark blue shimmer polish. Formula was great, two coats and one coat of Dazzle Dry top coat.

Sun...

Indirect natural lighting...

Artificial lighting...

What do you think? Do you have this one? Do you like dark polishes on short nails? I have a feeling I was the last hold out on that one. LOL!

I don't believe this is available in stores anymore, but it's not super-scarce or spendy...yet. You can find it on re-sale sites and at places like Izzy's.

  1. So... I have A England's Lady of Shallot, this looks pretty identical in my opinion. Thoughts?

    1. Well they're both blue. Lady of Shallot is a totally different finish though. Blue Satin just has blue shimmer in a deep blue base. Lady of Shallot is more of a micro-glitter and it's blue and violet micro-glitter. Hope that helps! ♥

  3. Such a gorgeous color. I have OPI's Yoga-ta Get This Blue that looks really close to the Blue Satin.

  4. I know that nails are an individual preference so I'm not offended. I have nubbins and I love dark polish on them. Same for crazy holo, glitterbombs, etc. Because there is less of them, there is less risk of the "side-eye" from non-nail obsessed people. I had this color, but sold it as it was too nearly black all the time.

  5. Any idea how this compares to YSL Bleu Cobalt? I'm trying to compare online swatches (never easy!) and they look almost identical. BTW, thank you for your blog - it's so helpful and your swatches are fab ;-)
