Weekend Bits and Bobs - Sept. 22, 2013

♥

What I'm Loving

These are hands down the BEST eye liner pencils I've EVER tried in my life. Granted my experiences with eye liner pencils has previously been limited to drugstore brands, but still! Huge shout-out to Phyrra, who is the reason I took the plunge.

I got 2 samples of this last time I was at the Chanel counter. This stuff is $165 a jar but after using it for nearly 2 weeks now, it just might have convinced me to take the plunge. I guess I figure at my age, I've earned the right to spend $165 on a jar of cream. It's very thick and creamy and smooth and I actually think I do notice minor changes!

-----------------------------------------------------

I saw these in the October issue of In Style Magazine - are these not the cutest pants ever? (Yes it's a cell pic of the magazine photo! Sorry!)

------------------------------------------------------------

Also loving the rainy weather, scarves (as always), houndstooth patterns and HUE pants.

Favorite manis this week...

This was a skittles mani of 5 of the upcoming polishes from The Polish Bar. I believe these will be releasing the first week of October.

And...

Zoya Payton from the upcoming Zenith Collection. GAH I love this polish!

And what I'm NOT loving...

*Michael Kors.

I don't know WHY but I'm really seeing a TON more Kors stuff lately...in person, in-store, in magazines, etc. Has the man ever had a unique thought or design of his own? Based on his "personality" on Project Runway, you'd think he'd be one of the "premiere designers" who had the right to judge. Just show me ONE ORIGINAL design of your own Michael! Just ONE that you haven't copied from Hermes, Celine, LV, etc.

*Mixing crazy patterns.

I guess I just don't have "the knack" for it.

Hope you're having a great weekend!!! ♥

  1. Chanel's skin care occasionally underwhelms me - one or two decent ingredients and a mass of ingredients that are all to make it feel nice or moisturise but don't have any anti aging or other benefits, in comparison to some lesser known companies with far higher concentrations and combinations of active ingredients.

Mind you, with those other products you do not get the luxury feel that Chanel can give or perhaps the beautiful textures.

This cream is a little like that too, looking at the ingredients list, but its two active ingredients seem interesting. The 'star' one is an anti-aging plant extract, the other is a dipeptide meant to cause calmness, comfort and tolerance in skin.

Sorry for the semi geekery! I felt entitled to throw my two cents :)

  2. I've tried more eyeliners than I care to list (liner is my only makeup most days)... and UD is far and away the best!! I love the Black Market set and the new Ocho Loco 2 :)

  4. I would love to get that Set of Eyeliners , this would fill the gap I always seem to have with a sensible Ränge of Eyeliners ;-)!!! I just last week did a splurge on YSL Forever Youth Liberator Night Cream - turning 48 in a couple of weeks, I felt the splurge justified and it is amazing, it easily took 10 years off my face and I have three more weeks to go with the treatment - clearly magic stuff - just in Case you might be interested ;-)
