Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating in America!

Paint Box Polish
The Women of Harry Potter Collection 2013

Today I have a special collection for you from Paint Box Polish called The Women of Harry Potter. I think all the Harry Potter fans' ears just perked up simultaneously the world over! There are 6 polishes in the collection and they launch tomorrow, BLACK FRIDAY! I have a special discount code for you at the end!

So we will get started after the jump...

Brains and Bravery is a grey crelly-based polish with fuchsia glitters and it was inspired by Hermione of course! No issues at all with formula or application. The glitters suspended perfectly inside the base and spread evenly on the nail. Two coats and one coat of top coat for the photos.

Glittery Heels is an aqua blue shimmer base with green shimmer and aqua metallic hex and square glitters in various sizes and it was inspired by a less well-know character - Madame Rosmerta, the Pub owner. No issues with this total glitter bomb either. Everything came out of the bottle nicely and laid flat on the nail. This one can be layered in one coat or worn alone. I'm wearing it alone with 3 light coats and one coat of top coat for the photos.

His Chosen One is a lovely warm, yellow-leaning almond crelly polish with a generous helping of gold flakes and it was inspired by Harry's "chosen one" Ginny Weasley. No issues to report with this one either. Great crelly formula with well-suspended flakes. Went on the nail smoothly and evenly. My skin-tone is a cool-leaning neutral so this will look less yellow and much prettier on warm-toned skin. Two coats and one coat of top coat for the photos.

Little Bit Different is a gorgeous blue to purple to copper to red to gold  multi-chrome and it was inspired by Luna Lovegood of course. Because she is a little bit different. No issues to report. The formula was smooth and I used 3 light coats with one coat of top coat for the photos.

Mama Lion is a coppery shimmery brown and my favorite of the collection. This one was inspired by Molly Weasley. "Not MY daughter, you b!tch!" RAWR! The formula was perfect and application was a dream. I used 2 coats and one coat of top coat for the photos.

Slightly Unstable is a stunning deep green shimmery holographic color-shifting polish and I will apologize in advance for my photos not doing this one justice. This one was inspired by Bellatrix LeStrange who was more than slightly unstable. LOL! Formula and application were great - no issues to report at all. I used 2 coats and no top coat for the photos.

And that makes all six! What do you think? All of them were really great. My favorite is Mama Lion because I just love that particular color and finish and although I've shown it with top coat, I will probably wear it without top coat because I LOVE that satin finish with the shimmer. I really liked His Chosen One too but that color hates me and makes me have a sad. But I'll still wear it because those flakies are amazing! And because I'm a sucker for a great grey and I love fuchsia, Brains and Bravery rounds out my top 3 favorites.

What are your favorites?

  3. Like them all except for Ginny's colour (just don't like the colour much) and the sparkly blue one. The other four are equally awesome as each other! I'd have liked to see a polish for Professor Mcgonagall, too... just going to show you can't please everyone :)
