Chanel
Notes du Printemps Spring 2014
Charivari #603 and Tapage #605

Chanel is releasing 3 nail polishes with their Notes du Printemps Spring 2014 Collection. Charivari, Tapage and Ballerina. Of course Ballerina (#167) is a re-release and much too sheer/light for me, so I just have the two new ones for you.

At the end I have a few comparisons for you - not because there's anything really close to either of them, but just to give you an idea of where the shades fall compared to colors you know.

Continued after the jump...

Charivari #603 is a gorgeous dark smoky aubergine creme. This one is perfection. Just the perfect color for my skin tone and a fantastic, creamy smooth and self-leveling formula. No issues to report at all. Two coats and no top coat for the photos.

Mostly shade, natural light...

Tapage #605 is one of those hard to describe shades of candy - it's a pink-leaning coral-y red. Because it's hard to describe, I have photos at the end with it sandwiched between a pink and an orange so you can see where it falls in the spectrum. No issues to report. Creamy application. Mostly-self-leveling. Two coats and no top coat for the photos. Indirect natural lighting photos are the most color-accurate.

So how do these compare to shades you already know? Let's have a look.

This is Charivari compared to Chanel Provocation, which is the one I got the most requests to compare.

You can see how smoky and purple/aubergine Charivari is compared to the red in Provocation.

Tapage is shown here with Chanel Pulsion on one side and Chanel Holiday on the other...right between a pink and an orange.

What do you think? Do you have them yet? I am actually quite pleased with both of these but of course Charivari is my favorite!

These polishes retail for $27 here in the US and are available at chanel.com and should be available soon at other popular department stores and Chanel counters nationwide.

  3. Charivari ♥
It sort of reminds me of Kiko's "379" eggplant/melanzana, but the latter isn't as smokey.
