Glitter Gal
Holiday in Oz Collection
Get Lit!
I have to be honest, I'm over the moon about the collection I have for you now because it's full of cremes and jelly/crelly polishes! Glitter Gal has come out with a few new collections and I have the Holiday in Oz Collection for you. And I had some fun with them with nail art at the end.
Continued after the jump...
True Blue Aussie is a bright royal blue crelly/jelly - it's a crelly but it's *almost* a jelly. A true blue Aussie is a patriotic Australian. No issues to report - great formula. Two coats and no top coat for the photos.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Big Smoke is a medium cool-toned grey creme. Big Smoke is a big city. This one is a straight creme and the formula was fantastic. No issues. Two coats for opacity and one coat of Glitter Gal Gloss Boss for the photos.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Redback is a bright, sexy blue-based red crelly/jelly. It's also a deadly spider but we won't talk about that. I'd say it's a crelly that's *almost* a full jelly. Two coats and no top coat for the photos. No issues to report. Great formula.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bluemerang is a baby blue pastel creme. Play on the word boomerang, of course. The formula is good and self-leveling, but as with most pastels, let the first coat dry before applying a 2nd or you will have cuticle drag. I've used two coats and one coat of Glitter Gal Gloss Boss for the photos.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
White Pointer is a bright white creme. Mostly self-leveling, good formula, two coats for opacity. A White Pointer is a shark. This is another one that you need to do thin coats and let each coat dry between, as with Bluemerang. Two coats and no top coat for the photos.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dorothy's Revenge is an orange-based red jelly polish with holographic micro-flakes. You can figure out the inspiration for this one. Dorothy. Oz. Sparkly red. LOL! There's really no way my camera was going to capture the true holo sparkle of this one. Great jelly formula. I used three coats alone and still had a little VNL (visible nail line) which is typical of true jelly polishes. No issues at all! One coat of Glitter Gal Gloss Boss because this one does dry to a sort of "rubber" or satin finish and the top coat brings out the amazing holo sparkle.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here I've layered one coat over Redback with a coat of Glitter Gal Gloss Boss top coat.
And over White Pointer on the accent nail. Layering it over the white really makes it POP!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Galaxy Top Coat is a holographic top coat with either small glass fleck shards or holo micro-flakes. I can't decide. But one thing is sure - it's more amazing in person than any photos can show. In the sun over a dark color you can see a full linear rainbow. It's stunning over any color. Here I've layered one coat over Big Smoke. The Glitter Gal Gloss Boss top coat brings it to life. It's perfection. Seriously. I really wish I would have had some sun for more than like a minute in the past few days. I can't say enough about it and those of you who know me know that toppers aren't really my thing. This one is special though.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
And I had a little fun playing around with them! For the looks below I've used nothing but the polishes in this collection.
White Pointer and True Blue Aussie gradient with True Blue on the accent nail - topped with Galaxy Top Coat...
Bluemerang with a True Blue Aussie gradient on the accent nail and random dots...
True Blue Aussie with Bluemerang dots...
True Blue Aussie and Bluemerang with White Pointer snowflakes...
True Blue Aussie and Big Smoke with White Pointer snowflakes, topped with Galaxy Top Coat...
Big Smoke base with all of the other colors as a quick waterfall mani...

What do you think? I have a lot of nail polish - most of them cremes and crellies and I can honestly say that I have none like any of these. At first glance in the bottles, you think you're getting just another blue or just another red. But the formula and finish make them. The only one that I might have a comparable version of is Big Smoke. Maybe.
They also have another new collection called celebrate Sydney Style.
You can check out swatches of this collection over at Set in Lacquer.
