Weekend Bits and Bobs: December 15, 2013 - Make-Up Storage, Journals, Old Crayons and Lots of Polish

Nothing to Disclose

TEN MORE DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS and I haven't started! Why do I DO this every year? I mean it's not like it's a total surprise. It's on the same day. Every. Year. *headsmack*

But while I haven't gotten my shopping mojo in gear for gifts yet, I've been practicing on myself. Picked up a few polishes for myself *shock* from various sources including a blog sale - so those don't really count, right? These Kikos are some my awesome buddy in France muled for me.

I really love Kiko.

Continued after the jump...

And then I got more stuff.

As if I don't have enough polish already.

Picks

Love the journals I get at Barnes and Noble - I use them as travel diaries and I get a new one every year or two. I love the feel of them. I usually go in person and pick out just the right one but you can order on-line as well.

Is there anything more exciting or inviting than blank pages waiting to be filled?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am really bad at using cuticle treatments of any kind - not because I don't like them but just because I either don't think of it or I'm lazy. But in the winter? Constantly. And I love the ones made by BalmsNBaubles. I've never ordered directly from them so I don't know if you can as an individual but Elevation Polish and Darling Diva Polish both use them.

I love them! Smooth and nourishing and the smells are light and don't bother me at all! (Most scented things do - and you can even get unscented.)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've been seeing the $400 make-up storage things - you know the ones - acrylic. And while I think I'd love one of those, I've actually never had a real "storage solution" for my make-up to see if I would even like that type of thing. So for $12 at Walmart, I picked up these two plastic storage containers to try them out. I think they probably take up the same amount of counter space. So if it ends up working for me I *might* splurge on the fancy one.

So far, so good!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because of my sensitivity to smells, I don't often find candles that I can tolerate. But when I do, I LOVE them. BKD Signature does soy candles and there was no pineapple scent listed. There rarely is. It's my FAVORITE scent EVER so naturally it's impossible to find without something else mixed in like lime or bergamot.(ick)  So I asked the maker and VOILA! She made me some pineapple soy candles and I really wish right now that this screen was scratch and sniff because these are glorious.

Highly recommend.

PANS

So. I got this little quad of lip crayons from BITE - from Sephora. I don't even remember how much it was now, but I remember thinking it was a great deal and I seem to be "into" lipstick lately so naturally they fell into my cart.

They come in a tin about the same as Altoids with a mirror and 4 lip crayons. The colors are great. Good pigmentation. Creamy application. So why is this a "pan?" Well because they smell and taste like old crayons. Not the new fresh box of 64 Crayolas you remember as a kid. The generic kind. But old. I didn't test how long-lasting they were because I was getting nauseated. But ya gotta hand it to 'em. They named them right. They smell and taste like crayons and that BITES.

And here's a shameless doggie pic...

Well that's it for today - have a GREAT rest of the weekend!

(And if you have any recommendations for pineapple scented things like bath stuff or lotions, let me know!)

If you enjoyed this post, please take a second to "like" it! Thanks!
