Tonight continues swatches of the new Scofflaw Winter 2014 Collection set to launch January 5th, 2013. Tonight is Dingoes Ate My Baby!
Here's what the creator had to say about this collection and her inspiration: Now, you may have noticed I don't really do 'collections', per se. Only in the most vague way. If the winter collection had a theme, it would be the idea of 'comfort'. My go-to colors. Colors that make me feel cozy. Polish names that give me a warm fuzzy - you get the idea!
SCOFFLAW NAIL VARNISH WINTER 2014 COLLECTION
I've decided to give each one of these beauties its own post so I could show you both in artificial lighting and indirect natural lighting without trying to keep it short. Then I will do a round-up post so they'll all be in one place for future reference.
Continued after the jump...
Dingoes Ate My Baby is a dark teal jelly/crelly with green-blue shimmer and shift. Thre are small blue, green and iridescent glitters as well. I think I see a hint of scattered holo in this one as well along with some micro-flakes! It really sparkles in the light and is very rich in indirect natural light.
When asked about her inspiration for this one, the maker said: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer was my favorite show when I was in college, and Oz was, in my mind, the dreamiest guy ever (Dingoes Ate My Baby was the name of his band). He wore nail polish, and I like to think Dingoes is exactly the sort of color he would have worn."
I used two light coats and one coat of top coat for the photos. No issues to report at all.

Here's the skittlette I used Dingoes Ate My Baby in - on the thumb and pinkie. Jacklope on the index and Ruff Tuff Creampuff on the middle and ring with Happy Little Tree accents.

Here's a photo so you can see the names without searching...
Aren't those labels ADORABLE?

Four down with six more beauties coming up over the course of the rest of this week! I will finish up on Friday because these will go live on the site on January 5th! There's also a bit more nail art too.
What do you think of this one? The micro-flakes in this one is what won me over and the name is hilarious and yes, I say it with an accent. LOL!

I am IN LOVE with this one!!
ReplyDeleteNice color, but I must admit, the name I found off-putting... made me think of the incident in Australia where dingos actually did eat a baby... ick.
ReplyDeleteIt's a line from the movie A Cry in the Dark with Meryl Streep - and further spoofed on Seinfeld. I wasn't aware there was really an incident.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!

ReplyDeleteHi! Finch here from Scofflaw.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to pop in to admit that I was unaware of the incident 35 years ago involving a real dingo. The polish was named purely as a nod to the TV show 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and nothing at all was meant by the name beyond that. I wasn't even aware there was a movie made - where the phrase originally came from - until I googled it. So I just want to apologize if anyone is creeped out or bothered by the name choice.
Thanks Finch! I didn't know there was a real incident either...I haven't seen the movie. I actually don't watch Buffy either but the Seinfeld sketch will be forever etched in my memory as something funny like I am sure you intended.
DeleteThanks Finch :) I never even knew of the Seinfeld or the Buffy thing. (I don't watch enough TV!)
DeleteIt's a lovely polish, dark blue greens rock.
