Scofflaw Nail Varnish Winter 2014 Collection: Love Letter to Bob Ross and Happy Little Tree

*This product is Cruelty Free

Today continues swatches of the new Scofflaw Winter 2014 Collection set to launch January 5th, 2013. Right now I have two for you! Love Letter to Bob Ross and Happy Little Tree, which were created to go together but each stands tall alone as well.

Here's what the creator had to say about this collection and her inspiration: Now, you may have noticed I don't really do 'collections', per se. Only in the most vague way. If the winter collection had a theme, it would be the idea of 'comfort'. My go-to colors. Colors that make me feel cozy. Polish names that give me a warm fuzzy - you get the idea!

I've decided to give each one of these beauties its own post so I could show you both in artificial lighting and indirect natural lighting without trying to keep it short. Then I will do a round-up post so they'll all be in one place for future reference.

Continued after the jump...

Love Letter to Bob Ross is one of my favorites of the collection and it's meant to go with Happy Little Tree. If you don't know who Bob Ross is, you probably weren't watching PBS in the 80s. Bob was the dulcet-toned painter form The Joy of Painting. This is a blue-green/slate polish with turquoise highlights and shimmer and grey micro-flakes. I am also seeing sparks of red, copper, blue and pink. This is very complex and gorgeous.

Happy Little Tree is a clear-based glitter topper with gunmetal, grey, pale yellow and pale green hexes and circle glitters in various sizes in pale yellow, aqua and light green. I used one coat over the bases with one coat of top coat. Glitters are perfectly suspended and I had no issues at all.

Aren't those labels ADORABLE?

Six down with four more beauties coming up over the course of the rest of this week! I will finish up on Friday because these will go live on the site on January 5th! There's also a bit more nail art too.

What do you think of these two? The complexity of Love Letter to Bob Ross is over the top and Happy Little Tree has the perfect shade of soft yellow circle glitters. I actually love Happy Little tree over Ruff tuff Creampuff the most and Love Letter to Bob Ross on its own.

  2. I like the glitter topper over the cream and I think it would also be great over a gray, silver, or greige-- I like those warm colors over neutrals.

  3. omg Bob Ross - memories of my childhood! =) I'd probably have to purchase this polish for its name and inspiration alone - but it happens to be extraordinary beautiful to boot! I LURVE polishes with complex micro glitter/shimmers and flakies - and ESPECIALLY dark greens and teals with this effect. Happy Little Tree is 1) making me cry thinking of the childhood memories, again and 2) and gorgeous glitter topper. Only thing is I am trying to get away from full-on glitters - but the topper does looks particularly nice over the cream shade ;)
