Thrifty Thursday! Starring Pure Ice Moonlight

Nothing to Disclose
*This product is no longer Cruelty Free

Thrifty Thursday
Pure Ice
Moonlight

Have you  missed Thrifty Thursdays? I have and I've been really lax about posting them for the last couple of months, but it's a new year, so I wanted to start if off right!

Pure Ice was bought out by Revlon, which is no longer Cruelty-Free, unfortunately.

Continued after the jump...

Moonlight is a gorgeous shade of grey taupe with awesome violet and blue shimmer. I think I also see gold or copper shimmer sprinkles as well and either a smattering of holo shimmer or maybe color-shifting shimmer? I say this because I see green sparks here and there too. No issues to report. Great formula and application. Two coats with no top coat for the photos.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was really blown away by this one. Not typical Pure Ice, honestly. They've always had decent cremes and a few great toppers, but this is the first shimmer that's caught my eye. Loved it!

Pure Ice polishes are available at Walmart stores nationwide and retail for $1.97.

  2. Do you know if this in their permanent line or was from a limited edition collection? Gorgeous swatches! I really want this polish now.

    1. My store doesn't have any of the special edition displays anymore - this was just in with the core collection section so I assume it's permanent?

  3. The color is beautiful!
I don't know why but I have been so into grey polishes this winter season!

  4. Really disappointing about the "no longer cruelty-free" thing - that's really important to me. It's particularly bad because this color is beautiful. Oh well - some indie maker will produce a similar one that's cruelty free and I will buy it from them!! :)

    1. Yep, I hear ya! Check out Pahlish El Topo Petit - it's not exact, but it has a similar look and a fantastic formula.

  5. I have missed Thrifty Thursdays; I'm a thrifty girl. This is a gorgeous polish; unfortunately, I won't be buying it because it's not cruelty free. One of the few thrifty, cruelty-free brands I know of is Color Club, about $4 a bottle. Also Jessie's Girl and Jessie. Do you know of any others?

    1. Milani still is and I *think* Salon Perfect might be. Essence Colour to Go, which I don't have easy access to. It's really sad.
