Nothing to Disclose
♥
Hi guys! Lots of things to share this week, good and bad. Meet me after the jump...
I guess we can start with the good. Yesterday we sort of thumbed our noses at Facebook by sharing the crap out of each other #sharethelove. They are not letting anyone see anything from any of the stuff we like, or very little of it, instead trying to make pages pay to promote. That's crap. So yesterday, and all through the night, bloggers and indie makers just shared each other until feeds were filled! Just myself, I gained over 600 likes! ♥
We see the horrible way people treat others - childish, mean-girl behavior. It's nice to see the good side. People who #sharethelove. And gain the proper perspective - that the good people FAR outweigh the jerks in our little perfectly polished corner of cyberspace.
The bad? Well, if you follow Pointless Cafe on Facebook, you know what happened to me Tuesday morning. My car, with my (favorite) purse containing about $400, all my keys and every form of ID I have, was stolen out of my garage! I pulled it about 3/4ths of the way into my garage and ran in the house to let the dogs out to do their business. I was inside about 10-15 minutes. I walked out to go get coffee and breakfast and it was GONE!
So, even if you're just running in for a few minutes and even if you're in a safe neighborhood and even if you're in your own garage, DO NOT leave your favorite purse (with your whole life in it) in the car!
Because getting a replacement DL, passport, debit card, etc. with zero ways to prove you are you is like shoving a wet noodle up a wildcat's butt.
The good? Well, there are lots of good things.
- I left the door from the garage into my house unlocked. And the door was between me and my guns (not anymore) so the good news is that I'm safe and they didn't come into my house. They easily could have.
- It could have been years ago when I didn't have two cars.
- It could have been at a time in my life when I didn't have an extra $400 to set aside in my bag as emergency money. There was a time in my life that would have broken me. I mean sure I'm going to miss $400! Who wouldn't? But I'm not going to starve or have my lights shut off.
- I'm handy. So I ran to Lowe's for a new deadbolt and replaced mine PDQ.
So I'm thankful that my life is so much more blessed than ever before. And that they didn't come into my house. And that they took "just things."
So without my favorite sunglasses and my favorite Chanel lipstick, I decided to replace them. I can't replace the car or the bag right now, but I was feeling so down and defeated I thought replacing what I could right then would help me feel better. So I got a new pair of sunnies and 2 new Chanel lipsticks. And you know what? It DID make me feel more "in control" of the whole situation!
Oakley Sunglasses - can you tell the frame is purple? ♥
Chanel Rouge Allure in Déterminée 108 and Exaltée 93...
Changed my profile pic - I look like a hippie!!!
And picked up a magazine with Ray Price on the cover. It's a shame he had to pass away to get just a tiny bit of the recognition he deserved. His birthday would have been last Sunday the 12th.

And my favorite mani this week...

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that happened to you! =( Thank goodness you're ok though!
ReplyDeleteI love the link sharing that's been happening on Facebook. I like being introduced to new nail blogs. =) I didn't really know there was drama going on, aside from a couple incidents regarding art credits and photoshop. I love the nail blog community and, fortunately, the bloggers I follow seem to be really great ladies.
Again I am so sorry that happened to you. Expensive lessons suck but they're always better-learnt glad you are able to start moving past it. I think you made some excellent pick-me-up replacements!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about that!! That is some amazing bad luck and timing that the wrong person was near and took advantage. I hate how there are people who do stuff like that and those of us who worked for that stuff and pay insurance lose out. But I hope the bad karma comes around on that bozo!!
ReplyDeleteOMG. I am so sorry about your car. Your attitude is awesome. I hope they find it and bring the thief to justice.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful new profile pic - your hair is incredible!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a crappy thing to have happen. Your upbeat attitude will always help you see the bright side of things, which is never crappy.
ReplyDeleteAnd now I have Monty Python stuck in my head haha
Sorry you had to deal with such crap, but sooo glad you've got your health and your guns! :) Your attitude and reaction to all of this is a shining example of grace and one I'll look back on when I face unfortunate circumstances. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that in the midst of all that chaos, you have chosen to see the positive side in even that. Your amazing and inspiring. Thanks for sharing and I hope your fav purse and car are returned to you in good shape.
