butter LONDON Petrol - Swatches and Review

Nothing to Disclose
*This product is Cruelty Free

Well, the collection I'm working on for you is delayed a bit but I have a pretty cool one from butter LONDON for you tonight - Petrol. I can't remember if I picked this one up at Dillard's or if I ordered through butter LONDON when they had a sale on. But clearly I swatched it when my nails were shorter, which makes this one another from the vault!

Petrol is described as an "opalescent sheen of oil reflected in rain" and it really does remind me of an oil slick!  This one is a sort of blue to purple duo-chrome that can be worn alone or as a topper. I've used 3 coats of this one alone - as sheer as it looked going on with the first coat, I was pretty sure it would take 4 or 5 coats but it didn't! At the end, I've layered it over black on my accent nail. I actually liked it both ways. The formula is fairly thin, as is the nature of this type of polish, but not troublesome and about what you'd expect in a topper. I didn't have any issues with flooding my cuticles though. Three coats and no top coat.

What do you think of this one? Do you prefer it alone or layered?

butter LONDON polishes are available at butterlondon.com and selected retail stores like ULTA (and most recently, Dillard's Department Stores) and they retail for $15.00 for .4 ounces. To stay up-to-date on special deals and offers, you can "like" them on Facebook here. Petrol is just one of the over 150 colors they offer, in addition to various indulgences for your hands and feet...and even your lips. The nail lacquers are 3-free and butter LONDON is a Cruelty-Free company. That's a major plus for me.

If you enjoyed this post, please take a second to "like" it! Thanks!

  1. No topcoat - and they are that shiny?! Wow! The swatch you did is beautiful. I like it layered over the black best, even though it doesn't really need it, it's so pretty on its own.
