Nothing to Disclose
♥
Good morning! Today I have a quick post to show you guys the polish rack I've been working on that you may have seen "in progress" on my Instagram or FB page.
My disclosure is that I am not a carpenter. I'm fairly handy though and this was really easy - providing you have the tools handy.
DIY Nail Polish Storage Rack
Continued after the jump...
The finished product...
And here it was in progress...
Of course this needs to be wall mounted, or if using on a table, it needs to be secured to the wall. I just loaded it up so you could see it in action. This one is actually for someone else.
I put it together quickly with wood glue and an air brad nailer. (I used a regular 10 inch chop saw - measure twice, cut once!) Then I came back and secured it with screws. I used a hand sander to smooth everything out, primed it and painted it in 3 shades of pink - sort of like a tie dye effect. I followed up with a spray clear coat. This easily holds over 200 polishes and because of that weight, I came back with screws and put the wood along the back at the top. The wood piece at the top is also for securing the rack to the wall. I also made sure to put the top, bottom and shelves inside the sides instead of putting the sides inside so that it would hold up to the weight.
There is a step up on each shelf and trim on the front of each shelf to keep the polishes secure. These can be decorated any way you want and the hardest part of the whole thing is waiting for paint to dry before loading it up!
What do you think? Is this something you would try yourself? Have you already? If so, please post your DIY nail polish storage on the Pointless Cafe Facebook page! I'd love to see!

This is awesome! I just have two of those wall-mounted acrylic racks, but they're not deep enough for some polishes. Also, they're kind of ugly! hahah
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see a tutorial for this (:
got any measurements for this?
ReplyDeletelooks pretty neat, well done!
This seems like a perfect project for my Father in Law! Christmas idea! If they won't buy me nail polish (they think I have too much), maybe he'll have fun building something for me!
ReplyDeleteThat's an awesome idea. I think I will do the same :)
ReplyDeleteLove this project!!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I'd love to see a tutorial or have the measurements for this so I can either build one for myself or have hubby make it for me. :0) I'd love to get my polishes out of the awful plastic shoe boxes they're in now.
ReplyDeleteWhat a super idea! Also gotta say I totally admire your taste in polish! ;-)
ReplyDeleteVery well done! And now I want every Elevation Polish that ever was...
