The Digit-al Dozen Does Texture - Day Two: 3-D Grid Nails

Nothing to Disclose

Yep, you read that right! I'm joining the lovely ladies of The Digit-al Dozen! I secretly think it's some sort of evil initiation that my first month is TEXTURE! I'm a creme lover through and through. But I shall persevere!

Day two brings 3-D Grid nail art.

For this mani, I used a base of Zoya Dove and drew freehand grid lines with a striping brush and Wet n Wild WildShine Black Creme. Then I came back in with Essence Movie Star for the darker grey in one corner and Zoya Dove mixed with white in the other corner of each square...sort of blending them to get a 3-D effect.

They do look more 3-D at arm's length than in these unforgiving close-up shots.

Be sure to check out the other great Digit-al Dozen manis in the links below and stay tuned for a new texture mani each day this week!

If you enjoyed this post, please take a second to "like" it! Thanks!

  1. They look very 3D to me! So much so that I had to click through from Facebook to see the other shot just to decide if they are smooth or actually raised. Well done!

  10. Sheila!!! This is completely amazing and is totally messing with my brain!! I know it's flat, but it looks impossibly 3D. It's like one of those wonky optical illusions that makes you kind of dizzy because you are getting mixed messages.
    I mean seriously wow.
I am STOKED that you are joining the DD. I look forward to seeing posts all the time, and this team is a stellar group of artists.
    Well done.
