Both of these polishes, as with all Alter Ego nail enamels, dry to a semi-matte finish. I've used one coat of top coat on my swatches to show you the brilliant shimmer.
Rows Her Boat is a gorgeous blue-leaning teal shimmer polish full of golden shimmer/flecks that mix perfectly with the teal base to create a sparkly green flash. Two coats and one coat of top coat for the photos.

Sold On Gold is a sunny yellow-gold shimmer polish with tons of golden shimmer/flecks. This one is a more sheer jelly/crelly that builds to a nice opacity in 3-4 coats and is great for jelly sandwiches. I've done a "dot-wich" on the accent nail below using Rows Her Boat sandwiched between layers of Sold on Gold. For the swatches, I used 3 medium coats and one coat of top coat.

What do you think? I've made no secret that I love finishes that aren't necessarily high shine and all of Alter Ego's polishes dry to a semi-matte finish. This is how I usually wear them but of course with a top coat they transform into sparkly, shiny goodness. I really loved how the top coat brought out the shimmer in these two so I wore them both with top coat...this time. To see them without top coat, check out Jacki's post over at Adventures in Acetone.
