Happy Sunday! Today I have a new collection from Different Dimension to show you for Fall 2014 - The Heavy Metals Collection.

There are 6 holographic "metal" shades and 2 clear-based glitter toppers in the collection. Not too long ago, I said metals were "out" and to be honest, I was thankful. Never did I envision linear holo metals. When something quits working, what do you do? Discard it? NO, you find a creative person who can re-invent them. And reinvent them she did!

When I first heard about them, I wasn't over-the-moon excited, but I've never known Different Dimension to put out a bad product, so I went in open-minded.

So let's start with the linear holos. All 6 of these had the same formula. Creamy and smooth. Not streaky at all (my major issue with most metals), perfectly self-leveling and they're opaque in 2 easy coats. One coat of top coat for all photos.

All That Glitters is Not Gold is a classic gold with a strong linear holo and gold shimmer that gives it a strong golden flash.

Bold as Brass is a brownish mauve-toned bronze with a linear holo and added shimmer.

And this is the ONLY one the sun peeked out for, briefly.

Copper-Bottomed is a true copper shade with a linear holo that has a strong violet arc and a golden copper sheen.

Foiled Again is a dark gunmetal linear holographic polish.

Hearts of Rose Gold is a coppery rose gold linear holographic polish.

Silver Lining is a true, unmuddled bright silver linear holographic polish.

And now for the glitter toppers...

Pedal to the Metal is a clear-based glitter topper with holographic glitters in gold, copper, gunmetal, silver, copper and bronze in a variety of shapes and sizes. No issues at all - glitters were well-suspended in the base, no fishing was necessary and they spread nicely on the nail. One coat over Silver Lining. One coat of top coat.

Hearts of Steel is a clear-based glitter topper with holographic glitters in gold, copper and rose-pink in a variety of shapes and sizes. Same as with Pedal to the Metal, no issues at all - glitters were well-suspended in the base, no fishing was necessary and they spread nicely on the nail. One coat over Hearts of Rose Gold with one coat of top coat.

What do you think? Favorites? You know me, the glitters aren't really for me, but the formulas were great and they do go well over the metals. My favorite of the collection is Bold as Brass. I about fell over when I first put it on.

So I have to give it to her, she took something tired and breathed new, beautiful, fresh life back into it! She actually "made metals happen!" So fetch.
