Tami Beauty: Skibo Sunset - Swatches and Review

*This product is Cruelty Free

Tonight I have a new-to-me brand to show you...from SCOTLAND! Tami Nail Polish's Skibo Sunset.

Tami Nail Polish
Skibo Sunset

Continued after the jump...

If you've been reading Pointless Cafe long, you will already know of my love for Scotland. And all things Scottish. Well not ALL things. Haggis is just WRONG. But most things Scottish. I go to Scotland every time I get the chance and the next time I get a vacation, I'll be right back there. It's in my blood. So when the opportunity arose to try a polish made in Scotland, I was thrilled. And I am SO glad I did.

Skibo Sunset was inspired by the array of colorful red flowers in Skibo Castle's gardens. It's a gorgeous holographic pink-magenta with a creamy smooth formula. No issues at all with formula or application. Nicely pigmented and opaque in 1-2 coats depending on your "hand." I've used two light coats and one coat of top coat for all photos.

If you're not familiar with Scottish geography, the inspiration, Skibo Castle (Caisteal Sgìobail) is located to the west of Dornoch in the Highland county of Sutherland, Scotland overlooking the Dornoch Firth. And a lovely castle it is.

I haven't had a chance to visit this one yet. I only got as far North as Eilean Donan Castle last time. But I will! And I may just show up on Tami's doorstep with my hands held out for polish!

So on to the photos.

Well what do you think? It's my favorite sort of holographic pigment - you know the kind that's not the super strong linear? It's a tightly scattered holo or maybe a loose linear - the kind that reminds me of the holo in some of the a-England polishes. Perfect formula. And their logo is a Scottish Thistle! (Okay, yeah I geeked out a little over that.)

Tami Nail Polish is a Scottish nail polish brand custom formulated by the creators at Tami Beauty then produced at the same facility as the Leighton Denny range of polishes. All polishes are proudly made in Scotland and are free of Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Toluene and Formaldehyde and cruelty-free. They also offer free expert advice about all aspects of nail care and general beauty and health care.

Polishes are 10mL and retail for £8.99 (The USD equivalent changes daily with the Exchange Rate, but that's approximately $14.50 as I write this.)

They post worldwide, £4 per order.
