Hi guys! It's been a LONG time since I've done a Bits & Bobs post so I figured it was time. Today I have a couple of new purchases to show you - Burberry Nail Polish and a Chanel Shadow Duo.
Continued after the jump...
First up Burberry Nail Polish. Where have I BEEN? I've had my head down swatching so much that I lost touch. So I picked up this polish to check it out.
Burberry Dusky Mauve #405 - it's a medium-to-dark grey-based taupe creme. Creamy and smooth formula. Opaque in one coat but I've used 2 coats and no top coat for the swatches. Dries to a shiny finish. I really liked it but it's only 8mL for $22. Dior is only 10mL though so they're right in line with each other, price-wise. And the brushes are similar. Wide and flat. It does dry darker on the nail than it appears in the bottle.
I first thought "Oh, it's going to be a Chanel Particuliere dupe." I was wrong! Compared them along with 2 Zoyas and a Dior.
Apparently they've been around for a while and I am just crawling out from under my rock.
This is A/W 2014... $126 for the set at us.burberry.com (photo from Burberry)

I also recently picked up one of the Chanel Irréelle Duos: 78 Acqua Alta Retails for $40. These are available at Chanel, Saks, Nordies and wherever Chanel cosmetics are sold, but they seem to be out of stock everywhere right now. I wanted the other Duo with the browns and can't seem to locate it.

In case you missed yesterday, Hobby Polish Bloggers got together for a Halloween Mani link up!
And I did a matte top coat comparison last night...
Have a great week!

I've missed your B&B posts! I really like the color of that Burberry and I also like design on the cap!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see a Bibs and Bobs. The Burberry is very pretty. And I also like seeing the eye shadows. I like makeup and love seeing your take on it. Chanel has a holiday eye palette as I am sure you know with a lot of silvery grays in it. Nearly every blogger I've read seems to find it too cool-- but it seems that so many are warm toned.
