Zoya Wishes Collection: 2014 Winter/Holiday - Swatches and Review

*These products are Cruelty Free

Happy Saturday! This evening I have swatches of the latest Zoya Collection - Wishes for Winter/Holiday 2014. This new set is an assortment of 6 polishes in Magical Pixie Dust formula, creme and shimmer/metallic.

Zoya Wishes Collection
Winter/Holiday 2014

Continued after the jump...

This new collection contains 3 coordinating duos. A creme and 2 shimmers that have a coordinating Magical Pixie Dust. But I think all 6 go really well together. Sort of mix and match. Like Garanimals. Do they still make those?

First the creme and shimmers.

Willa is a black creme, formerly known as the Limited Edition Zoya Black Swan. Creamy and smooth. Perfect formula. I used 2 coats and no top coat.

So let's dress her up a little, shall we? Accent using Zoya Imogen and the starburst design from Nail Vinyls.

Those above are without top coat remember! Super high shine finish.

Below, I've used all 3 of the new Magical Pixies in the same starburst...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Prim is a medium blue metallic shimmer. Smooth and easy formula. Minor brush strokes. Two coats with no top coat.

So let's take her from prim to a bit more bold. Shown here with Zoya Nori tips...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Haven is a medium-to-deep orchid plum shimmer/metallic. Glowy. Same formula - smooth and easy. No issues - very minor brush strokes. Nearly non-existent actually. At arm's length, you see no brush-strokes. Only in the non-forgiving light of the closely-cropped photo are they visible. Two coats with no top coat.

And below with an accent on the top of Zoya Thea...

Here I've dolled her up a bit more with Zoya Thea and Zoya Nori...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now for the Magical Pixie Dusts in the collection.

Thea is described as a "deep amethyst" and it's a glitter texture polish full of holographic hex glitters in various sizes in a crelly base. Two coats with no top coat (except where indicated in the photo caption.)

Nori is described as a "sapphire blue" and it's a glitter texture polish full of holographic hex glitters in various sizes in a crelly base. Two coats with no top coat (except where indicated in the photo caption.)

What do you think? Of course I still prefer the original texture Pixie Dusts over the Ultra or the Magical. But Haven and Willa? WOW! What are your picks?

  3. "non-forgiving light of the closely-cropped photo". I call these DMPs, Dreaded Macro Pics. Things pop up in them that you never see IRL :)

  4. I love your nail art with Magical Pixies! I think that's the best way to wear them. Solo they are just not my cup of tea.
    Haven is my favourite.
