My Favorites of 2014 - Indie Polishes
Basically this is going to be just a list. I'm all talked out! (shut up Cindy and Ashley)
To see my Favorite Polish of 2014 (with a GIVEAWAY) you'll have to come back at 4 pm CST because that one gets a post all by itself.
So I tried to do 14 for 2014, key word being TRIED and we're starting with the polish that basically was the front-runner for Favorite Polish of 2014 all the way up until the last days...in the Number 2 position is: Elevation Polish Shillin Stone Forest!
I'm not sure why this one captured my heart above all other Elevations and all other polishes period this year. But it did. Perfect grey, perfect balance of shimmers and micro-flakes.
------------------------------------------------
The number 3 slot is also Elevation Polish - Sunset Among the Palms! It was a close one here as well because she came out with the Hawaiian Punch collection and filled it full of awesome. It was down to Bromeliad and Sunset Among the Palms but Sunset won by a
------------------------------------------------
Number 4 is Pipe Dream Polish VIP Pass. Stunning, unique, and PERFECT formula. It now occurs to me that while I posted on IG about it, I didn't ever do a blog post. I even marbled with it! I've worn it several times and just assumed I'd blogged it! Oops!
------------------------------------------------
Number 5 is a England Crown of Thistles
------------------------------------------------
The rest are in no particular order but they won my heart and they're what I found myself reaching for more than once, which is saying something.
Girly Bits Darkly Dreaming
------------------------------------------------
Darling Diva The Alchemist
------------------------------------------------
Different Dimension Thriller
------------------------------------------------
KBShimmer Mars-ala
------------------------------------------------
Superficially Colorful Giggly
------------------------------------------------
Literary Lacquers Lurid Fog
------------------------------------------------
Pahlish Eleven's Hour is Now Over
------------------------------------------------
Colors by Llarowe Human Nature
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Honorable Mentions because you know I really FAIL at narrowing and these deserve acknowledgment for sure.
KBShimmer Right as Reign
------------------------------------------------
KBShimmer Radiant Orchid
------------------------------------------------
Pahlish Balneario
------------------------------------------------
Pahlish Petropolis - yeah I totally stole Shannon's photo because for some reason, I haven't blogged this one either! I think wearing it so often makes me think I already blogged it. Oops again!
------------------------------------------------
Darling Diva You're Grounded - this is ONLY on the Honorable Mentions list because it was a custom/gift and you can't buy it. But it's definitely one of my favorites of 2014!
------------------------------------------------
Girly Bits Too Hot for Pants
------------------------------------------------
Colors by Llarowe Sherwood Forest
------------------------------------------------
Colors by Llarowe MJ's Jacket
------------------------------------------------
Paint Box Polish Sugar Spun Quills
------------------------------------------------
And Girly Bits Touch My Heart - again, it's only in the Honorable Mention category because it was a special custom/gift for me just because and you can't buy it. And she named it Touch My Heart because my favorite singer died this year - Ray Price. Touch My Heart is one of my favorites of his. It was truthfully one of my favorites in 2014. And maybe ever.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NEWCOMER AWARD goes to Tami Beauty because they blew me away with the very first polish - Skibo Sunset. This is a Brand to Watch for 2015 for sure!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Favorite Collections:
KBShimmer Spring 2014
Elevation Polish Hawaiian Punch Collection
a England Elizabeth and Mary Collection
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And finally, my Overall Favorite Brand of 2014...this includes indie brands and mainstreams.
Elevation Polish
Was there a doubt? Her polishes are so unique and beautiful. The formula is always perfect. And you can tell there's no "chasing the fads" going on here. She's setting them. And I always admire people who just do their own thing. She seems to see things in her own unique way. Sort of like Vincent Van Gogh saw the world and its beauty through his own special filter. I know a lot of people who have their own special filters. I suspect most of us have them. But she's able to translate her filter for us so that we can see as well. That's the talent. And I feel privileged to get a glimpse through that wondrous filter now and then.
-----------------------------------------------------
And I can't leave out my favorite Top Coats!
HK Girl from Glisten and Glow is my Go-To top coat!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well there are some of my favorite Indie polishes of 2014! And I'm pretty sure in this mound of polishes yet to be swatched would be a few more that would make the list. But you have to cut it off somewhere, don't you?
So how many of MY favorites do you have? What are your favorites this year?
I still have a few more end-of-year posts for you coming - My Favorite Polish of 2014 with a Giveaway, of course. Will be posted at 4 pm CST TODAY! Also on the way is a round-up of my favorite main stream polishes this year and one with My Favorite Beauty Products I've been using this year. I've recently done a Favorite Nail Art post, so we might skip that one.
But Stay Tuned! Because in addition to all of that I have a TON of beautiful polishes and collections for you that I'm still working on.
♥
If you enjoyed this post, please take a second to "like" it! Thanks!
Nice choices!
ReplyDeleteAwwww {sniff sniff} Thank you for including me. I am TRULY honoured. I was really looking forward to this list because I know it's always a winner. I don't know if it's because you and I have a similar taste, or because I know how particular you are in choosing your favourites so I KNOW these are all winners, or a combination of both. This post should come with a 'buy all now' button hehe. I actually have most of these, and now I need then rest.
