*This product is Cruelty Free

LAUNCHING FEBRUARY 6, 2015

I'm baaaaack! This time I have the new KBShimmer Spring 2015 Collection to show you. There are 12 new shades from holos to crelly glitters to the perfect white creme. Catch me after the jump for my swatches and thoughts on all of them.

Spring 2015

But first...how about a Spring Floral mani!

For this, I used Eyes White Open as my base and sponged  Blush Money, Ins and Sprouts and Thistle Be the Day over the top. I used acrylic paints for the green grass/stems and pink blooms.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Blue-d Lines - this is a cool-toned, sky blue with a strong linear holo. There's a gold flash and the holo arc is a deeper blue with a rim of turquoise. Smooth, easy formula. No issues. Two coats with one coat of top coat for the photos.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blush Money is a holographic pink with peachy undertones and golden shimmer and micro-flake particles. The holo is a tightly scattered (or maybe loose linear?) holo rather than a strong linear. No formula or application issues. Three light coats with one coat of top coat for the photos.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Cool Hand Cuke is the palest of pale mint green crelly base filled with holo shimmer along with various shapes and sizes of glitters in violet, yellow, turquoise, blue and white. The glitters are well-suspended in the base but because of the larger glitters, I used two coats of top coat. The pale green base can be seen in the bottles in the photos below but my skin tone plus the stain on my nails sucked the green right out on the nail. I used 3 light coats with 2 coats of top coat for the photos.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eyes White Open is a bright pure white creme that's billed as a two-coater but I think you might be able to get by with one coat depending on how heavy your hand is. For the base of the nail art I just used one coat. For the swatches below, I did use two to be sure to show it how most people will use it. Perfect, self-leveling formula. Two coats with one coat of top coat.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Funky Cold Patina is a turquise crelly base full of metallic glitters in copper, 2 shades of blue, and purple. No issues to report. Two coats with one coat of top coat for the photos.

Shade...

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm So Sweet Pea is pale purple tinted white crelly base with pink, white, turquoise and purple glitters in all sizes. Suspended perfectly. No issues at all. Three light coats with one coat of top coat for the photos.

Shade...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ins and Sprouts is a celery green with a strong linear holo. The holo arc is blue and citron and it has a golden flash. Perfect formula and application. Two coats with no top coat for the photos.

Shade...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meow or Never is a white crelly with just the gentlest touch of grey in the base - full of glitters in medium, small and micro in purple, periwinkle, sky blue and grey. Great formula (this was my favorite of the crelly glitters). Three light coats with one coat of top coat for the photos.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sweet Egg-scape is a a pale cotton candy pink crelly base full of all shapes and sizes of glitters in red, white, aqua, coral, silver and lavender. No issues to report. Three light coats with one coat of top coat for the photos.

Shade...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thistle Be the Day is a pink-toned lavender purple with a strong linear holo. The holo arc is violet blue and gold and there's a golden flash. No issues at all. Perfect formula and application. Two coats with no top coat for the photos.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To Peach His Own is a peach crelly base with glitters in lime green, gold, lavender and magenta. No issues, all the glitters were nicely suspended in the base. Three coats with one coat of top coat for the photos.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wind Swarm is a sky blue crelly base with purple, gold, white and hot pink glitters and a generous helping of gold holo micro-glitters/shimmers. No issues with formula or application. Three light coats with one coat of top coat for the photos.

So what do you think? Favorites? This is going to sound totally nuts, but if you've been looking for a great plain white creme for as long as I have, you'll understand when I say Eyes White Open! Other list toppers for me are Blush Money and Meow or Never.

KBShimmer is also releasing a Spring 2015 Nail Vinyl Sheet.  This decal sheet includes stripes and chevrons, as well Spring and Easter decals and retails for $5.00. They also have added more vinyls including SPIRALS that will launch on the 6th along with the Spring 2015 Collection! I will have some nail art with those for you sometime in February.

  5. Hi Sheila, your nail art is truly inspired. I never would have thought to use several holo polishes in a soft, sponged look as a base for flowers! And your use of the acrylic paints for the flowers provides a strong contrast in opacity which I think is necessary in this case -- it really makes the flowers stand out against the background. Just beautiful!!! XOXO

  6. I think my comment got deleted because i tried to link your review on Literary Lacquer's Strawberry Ice Cream Soma. Blush Money looks like an exact dupe almost. Do you find them the same? I already have LL's and do not dupes.

    1. The LL is thinner and less opaque and takes 3 coats - the KBS is a bit brighter and more opaque. LL is more of a jelly/crelly while the KBS is more like a creme. Also the KBS has silver micro-flakes and the LL doesn't. So for someone like me they're not dupes at all. It just depends on how much you like this color and how particular you are about what formula is your favorite type. ♥
