Paint Box Polish
The Knight Bus Collection

Happy Thursday! Today I have a brand new Harry Potter inspired collection from Paint Box Polish to show you called The Knight Bus Collection.

Meet me after the jump for full swatches and review!

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Pam, the creator, not long ago in Indianapolis. She is a sweetie!

The Knight Bus

A buttery, blue-leaning purple that is a nod to the emergency transport vehicle itself! This is a true purple creme. Smooth and creamy in application and formula. No issues at all and it dries to a super high shine. Two coats with one coat of top coat.

What 'Choo Fell Over For?
Did you see the beautiful, dark, glistening asphalt that Harry planted his buns on when the Knight Bus appears out of nowhere? My goal was to recreate that in this polish. A dark grey creme base that is packed with white, blue, and purple flecks. This one is just the perfect balance of a creme and a crelly to allow the flakes to suspend well and settle into the base while still shining through. This was my favorite of the collection. Two coats should be sufficient but I used 3 very light coats just because of the flakes. Turns out they weren't an issue at all though! One coat of top coat.

Won't The Muggles See Us?
This film is saturated with varying shades of blue and grey. This polish is a nod to that. The palest blue is peppered with grey and violet flakies and highlighted with white and blue flecks. This one has a base color normally not great on my pale skin but the addition of the darker, contrasting flakes made it totally wearable for me. No issues at all with formula or application. Two coats and one coat of top coat.

The Leaky Cauldron
One of the few places in this film with a warm feel is The Leaky Cauldron. It’s polish is a dusty, warm, dirty orange with linear holo and fiery, copper flecks. Kinda like the tavern itself. (But we took some liberties with the rainbow holo thing). This one is perfectly as described. Formula and application were perfect and I used 2 coats with one coat of top coat.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

And of course I had to play around just a little.

What do you think? I mean for real I'm a sucker for Harry Potter anything, but the formula and application are what matter to me. These didn't disappoint. My favorite was What Choo Fell Over For? Not only because of the polish but I actually say that quite often - IN the proper voice and accent too. Unfortunately I have a lot of opportunities to say it in context LOL! What were your favorites?

This collection will launch on Saturday, November 7th at 12 PM (noon) EST but WAIT...I have a discount code for 15% off! Use code POINTLESSCAFE - it never expires.

Mark your calendars for Saturday!

  1. Thanks, Sheila!! My son and I regularly have the: "What 'choo fell over for?" "I didn't do it on puuuuurpose!" exchange. With the proper accent, of course.
